I felt the references to the original were subtle enough to not get in the way, the only one I didn't like was the "damn dirty apes" line. It was funny and I'm glad it was there, it was just in the wrong place. The moments immediately after when Caesar first speaks was big, and to me it was emotional. That realisation of how far he's come. But it was offset by everyone still laughing at the reference. When it quieted down, some idiot in the theatre went, "He said no." which also killed it.

From the overreach of science experimentation to animal captivity and the undermining of animal intelligence, this film doesn't "gloss" over any details. What a bimbo.

The reason there were that many is because of the testing going on at the company. they had to get more apes for more tests. (and plus the zoo ones) 4. the army wasn't called because frankly.. it wouldn't be needed. 5-6 bullets do nothing if you are flanked from all sides. which they were. 7. the virus did spread. it showed at the end the airplane pilot had the virus and spread it all over the world

Also, it would've been great if the father was actually cured. It made me sad that it did not... One of my personal missions in life is to treat alzheimer's like this guy. Because, probably one of the worst feelings in life is to see and live with your parents who no longer remembers who you are.

This movie is really good. Things are explained nice and slowly, not rushed so the action scenes will have much more emotional impact to the viewers. I also like Caesar's character development and how he looks like Denzel Washington lol. They left a nice foreshadowing to what the part 2 might be. I give it a 9.5/10. And I was also wondering why the apes' antibodies did not counter act the virus since they are supposedly tougher then humans. That's the only flaw I could see

@spizza08 Lol, kay well this is explained in the movie but in case you didn't get it, the AZL-113 (the second drug) is toxic to humans. The fat doctor breathes some of the drug in and sneezes on another guy later on in the movie. The guy is a pilot, he becomes patient zero for a deadly disease which will be spread through out the world. Ergo, the humans die out. Later on the apes will breed and pass the drug down through their genes, equalling more super chimps. No idea on "evil" apes.
