An extra note- I was wary at first- because you know, you love your old versions of the classic songs. And this is a timeless classicThe old 60's Tokens version is ever great. I heard the first bit of this one, where he changes the um-um-aways, and was a bit worried. But Im a convert. Just took a bit of getting used to. Let me buffer my statement first; I do believe that (good) rapping takes talent. It requires both rythm and rhyme and, in some cases, quick thinking.

However, there is no music in pure rap. Music requires pitch which governs melody and harmony. The only music in rap is the backing music which has nothing to do with the rapper's voice. If the artist incorporates music in his/her voice, it is no longer rap. It is singing.

This is why I believe that acapella groups trounce rappers.

Looks almost like a gay Las Vegas version of this classic number, but all-in-all the only rendition I have heard that rivals The Tokens' original fantastic recording. Very imaginative while retaining, even in some ways, improving on the spirit of this great song.
