Appreciate the video, lived in Surprise about 10 years ago. It is amazing how much it has changed. I used to live in Fox Hill behind the old Town Center, was hoping to see that area a little bit. There used to be a diner down that way I think it was called Desert Palms, great food the way I remember it. God Bless, I'll be looking for more.
Love the Verve: BITTER SWEET SYMPHONY. Could not have played a better tune then that. I live behind yellow church at Bell & Cotton Lane. Someone please tell me around what year did they start farming this area??
Cool video, passed my turn, I live at Cotton Lane & bell behind the yellow church.
Can someone "please" tell me around what year did they start farming around Surprise Farms, very interested in knowing. Could haven't chosen any better music then The Verve, I LOVE that track BITTER SWEET SYMPHONY.
I can't believe the changes over the years myself. In 1998, I moved into that community at the end of the video. And this video is crazy...I'm in it! Haha! I saw my car clear as day...with my bike rack on it and all!!! Anyhow, Safeway and Albertson's were the only two grocery stores of Surprise...off Grand Avenue, across from Del Webb Hospital. I remember when Home Depot was going to open...then Bed Bath & Beyond...the excitement for the weekend was to walk through these stores...it was just li
Lived in Surprise for 5 years. Never became what it was supposed to. Just a bunch of fast food establishments, gas stations and a Walmart. Also a lot of foreclosed homes and empty businesses. Was at one time the 4th fastest growing city in the U.S. Our home was nice but there was not a lot to do in the area.
@ 5:27 I used to have to go through there (Sunrise Blve) to work at what used to be Osco Drug. Now its CVS and at @ 7:44 or a little before that to the right (which they don't show, but a little after Tutor Time) was/ a man made pond with a black fence around it. There used to be a dirt road there and maybe an 1/8 of a mile up was a small house in the orchards that used to be there. That was where I grew up till I turned 13. Its crazy how different it is now.
