  • Spent a night in there Jazz Cub in Soho, people were laying everywhere, even had pillows with them, great night great music.

  • I remember seeing them at Birmingham Town Hall, a long time ago.

  • I first heard the Ken Colyer band at the Shakespear hotel in Woolich in the fifties and was blown away with this great band ,I became addicted to NOJazz immediately.Ken will always be the"Guv'ner!

  • LMAO! I remember MacDuncan and Sonny Morris having a fight one night, on stage at the Napier !

I liked Sonny but MacDuncan didn't like me. He was a miserable bugger and commited suicide eventually by setting himself on fire.

Guess he always wanted to be a hot trombone player !

  • Oh what nostalgia. I was married to one of the Colyer jazzmen and remember well what the atmosphere was like in 1950s/60s. Thank you MoleDFigg for posting.

  • Thank you!

  • Good old Ken, God rest his soul. Good old nights down the Thames Hotel..........
