I think the scariest game in this video is DEAD SPACE, to me it's the best survival horror game on HD consoles. The others are just action games : RE4 and RE5 are fun tho (RE5 disapointed me a bit), and Left 4 Dead is really crazy ^^

I hardly think RE4 or RE5 qualify as survival horror. They're not scary at all, you're drowned in ammo and weapon upgrades and you have super ninja moves to kill your enemies with. However they are fun to play, but are NOT survival horror.

to me 4 is the least scary in the series along with 5. And being what you call helpless was one of the main points of the series. That's one of the things that defined its genre. Once that was taken away, the main series switched genres, which is something that should never happen.

first of all re4 and 5 are not horror survival. 2nd you obviously dont like horror survival games that much if you dont like the original resident evils better than the new ones.
5 is basically the same thing as 4 with better graphics and a better story. the gameplay is very very similar. neither of them have a horror element at all, they just throw hoards of zombie-ish people at you, with hardly any puzzle or problem solving aspect to the games, no creepy, eerie, gritty environments with ambushes and stuff. they are action games, they are ok games i guess, but in now way live up to their predecessors
1. Yeah. Movies like The Ring and The Hills have eyes were really scary cause they had a bunch of easy, boring puzzles.
2. How can you not say the Sewers, Regenerators and the Hedge Maze were not creepy scenes. Maybe not scary, but they are creepy and eerie.
3. No Ambushes? How about the first area in the game? You walk into a village and once your in the center of it people from everywhere start to go to you.
4. The story in all the Resident Evil games, are terrible.

re5 is not survival horror because you lose the since of being alone because of a partner its a survival action game just look at some of the cutscenes

None of the games on this list are survival horror. Allow me to explain:
1.Left 4 Dead is just a FPS with zombies
2. Dead Space enemies drop health items and ammo.
3. Resident Evil 4 is just a shooter and is about as much as a survival horror game as Resident Evil 5 (Yeah I said it).
Plus there are more than enouh games for a top 5 or top 10.

i gotta say, I still think that RE2 is the best survival horror game ever, because it kinda defines the genre. Maybe it's not technicaly the best or has the best story or blah blah blah, but when someone says Survival horror, I still think "Sorry Leon...it looks like your party....has been cancled.....".

I liked playing deade space because it scared the shit out of me. But one thing I was disappointed of is the fact, that the bosses in dead space are always the same tentacle monsters^^

Resident evil 4 is way better than resident evil 5. Its scarier, the bosses scare the shit out of you. Resident evil 5 is just action there are no scary parts.

RE5 was great game .. but it didnt feel like resident evil .. i liked 4th and code veronica more .. and dead space was just awsome ja jumpy game ... fear2 hmm ... it was kinda horror .. but just a little bit .. like many people says fear is like "light" horror game compared to silent hills etc

I hardly think RE4 or RE5 qualify as survival horror. They're not scary at all, you're drowned in ammo and weapon upgrades and you have super ninja moves to kill your enemies with. However they are fun to play, but are NOT survival horror.

kind of, but the parts that were scary WERE VERY FUCKIN SCARY imo but im easily sared but i love being scared like the part you play as ashley was really scary but every other resident evil [ive played them all] just had weird controls and camera angles making it mostly scary because youre helpless but in re4 you had a chance and it got the scary job of the franchise done which is why i like it more.

to me 4 is the least scary in the series along with 5. And being what you call helpless was one of the main points of the series. That's one of the things that defined its genre. Once that was taken away, the main series switched genres, which is something that should never happen.

Hehe Dead Space is scary, I mean the game is kick ass scary with out sounds on, and + with sounds on very scary, its not the look of the enemy thats scary its the moment when the enemy jumps from sides/behind/front. Trust me you gonna use the pause menu a lot of times...

5 is basically the same thing as 4 with better graphics and a better story. the gameplay is very very similar. neither of them have a horror element at all, they just throw hoards of zombie-ish people at you, with hardly any puzzle or problem solving aspect to the games, no creepy, eerie, gritty environments with ambushes and stuff. they are action games, they are ok games i guess, but in now way live up to their predecessors

1. Yeah. Movies like The Ring and The Hills have eyes were really scary cause they had a bunch of easy, boring puzzles.
2. How can you not say the Sewers, Regenerators and the Hedge Maze were not creepy scenes. Maybe not scary, but they are creepy and eerie.
3. No Ambushes? How about the first area in the game? You walk into a village and once your in the center of it people from everywhere start to go to you.
4. The story in all the Resident Evil games, are terrible.
