@LokiTime it depends on the dog really. there are some great kibbles out there but raw will generally be better if your dog has no issues with it. some dogs just cannot digest it well. if you can stray away from buying grocery store meats with all the hormones and crap injected into them the better off they will be
@beautywolfy she was slighly food aggressive when i adopted her but i've worked a LOT with her and its toned down. i can easily take her food from her if i want.
I like the idea of raw feeding only if the feeders understand what they are feeding. Organ meats are essential, but they are high in several minerals and vitamins that can be toxic if overdone. Also, raw salmon can poison dogs. Do a search. There are posts on veternarian websites (most located in Alaska and places where wild salmon occurs) that touch on the subject.
Try raw salmon or mackrel fillet. Huskies are one of the few breeds of dogs that actually benefit from a diet with food that have a high Omega-3 fatty content such as these type of fish. I have a pair of Huskies and I treat them to salmon or mackrel every weekend. They practically go nuts with excitement when I'm about to feed them.
Where do you get your beef heart? I can't seem to find it anywhere locally and it seems all the options I find online are dried or cut into strips.
So awesome to see prey model raw feeding! Some people look at me strange when I tell them what my dog eats, and that kibble is... far from optimal to say the least :)
i find it at the local super wal mart actually. and sometimes the foodlion here too..but rarely. i get plenty of strange looks when i buy bulk meat haha
Right now i'm feeding raw meaty bones and pulped veggies 3 times a week and Canidae holistic kibble 4 times a week. 100% raw isn't possible for me right now. But I have seen an improvement in my dog since I started adding these foods to his diet.
I am feeding my dogs Canidae now but I am changing food because they have changed their formula. They have added barley so Canidae is not gluten free any more. We are going to be feeding them Raw for one meal and kibble for the other. We are going to use Taste of the Wild. It is suppose to be an awesome food. We got samples and my dogs gobbled it up. I contacted the company and they sent samples of all 3 kinds.
If all people fed raw, we could put these dog killing kibble gansters out of business and Vets would finally get a clue!!! I have 3 Yorkies, one of them being extremely tiny and they all eat RAW!!! No more sick, stinky, fat dogs! Read, research, educate yourself! Kibble kills!
Yes K***le is bad. Most companies won't even admit to a problem until they have no choice. Google Nutro and consumer affairs and look at the complaints coming in in the last 2-3 weeks of dogs DYING from the food and the company refusing to acknowledge the fact that they have gotten complaints.
Beef heart and all heart actually is one of the best organs since it doubles as muscle as well. As i said in the other video your dogs are gorgeous.
I know what you mean I tell people try eating dry cereal for a lifetime for all three meals and watch your health go downhill, to me that's the same as kibble feeding. I love raw diets.

Yummy! I've heard that huskies do extremely well on raw diets just because they're made for it!
Boboua 2 years ago
Amazingly, all dogs are made for it lol :) They're all decended (sp) from wolves. Huskies just look like wolves.
