Like I said in the original Hey Hey It's Saturday video, blackface has a lot of uses in the arts. It was used in the US during the Vaudeville/Minstrel Show era.

Yes, it can be used in a racist manner, but it doesn't automatically make it racist.

For example: I've heard of blackface being used in Othello. I'm sure that's not meant to be racist.
