Another Bomb just exploded near the GSIS building here in cotabato city, the bomb is really powerful this time, well what are the odds to that? Welcome to Cotabato!
@ivan4PSN i live here and if telling me the truth make me a douche then call me what you want! even the vice mayor itself Vice Mayor Muslimin Sema with all his body gaurd still got shot to the jaw now tell me if its safe?
@MAPG888 you will never understand coz u dont live here, and you will never understand what is goin on here coz your not belong here. You dont know what muslim can do to you here especially when you are a Christian believer, and by the way you think talking smack can change the fact the people here are violent! dude i challenge your white ass to go here and take a hike in the night! Let's see if you go home alive?
@MAPG888 why didn't you say so in the 1st place! by the way ang cotabato ngayon ay nalalagay na sa alanganin why? the tension between the two political party here are becoming intense lately, there are possibilities that there will be a political blood bath that will happen same thing that happens in maguindanao. So if i'll update you bout it if you want?
@ijij123 With respect... It's like what this Jeremy says in this video... look for the positive aspects and highlighting them. Muslim or Christian, believer or non-believer; we're all human beings. No one's perfect why bring up a fight. And religion is to set aside from politics if this is the main concern. They should think about the people welfare. I am Catholic and I put humility before me... honestly that's how people should think. Sadly... no. But thanks for the offer. sorry bout the fight.
@MAPG888 its okay... actually i was just over concern about jeremy being white and walking around here, you know people have a mind set here when it comes to american people, when they see white they see green. Well truly right now theres a fear of a political war, so if something happens i hope jeremy wont be here. just a concern man for him.
Jeremy, I love you man. You just crystallized the problem in a few words. "When everyone is speaking negatively about a place, bad things happen." Not the other way around.
Good thing starts when people notices the positive side rather than dwell on the negative side. Notice that people who are proud of their place are the ones who we say have the "best" place..I envy cotabateno's because of their rich history and diverse culture. True, many things bad happen not just in Cotabato but everywhere else you go. I know many of us has had bad experiences of our hometowns, but that doesn't necessarily mean our town and its people are bad also. Jeremy, nice video!
thank you for showcasing our hometown with such dignity & respect. contrary to what comes out in the news, people in Cotabato remain to be peace loving & warm. more power to you. :]
Im from Philippines and born there too, but haven't been around the great tourism spots!! even though I lived there for about 3 years and went on vacation there a couple of times! :((( .. im jelly!!!
@10chiclet You are saying dnon't be ignorant? well you are the one who is ignorant... Everywhere you go here in the philippines, exposing your cellphone in public is a risk. Even in Davao City. Try visit Tondo, Taguig, QC, Samapaloc and even Makati. There are lot of snatching happening... A friend of mine was stabbed at Visay as ave. just in front of Seven eleven. Thier motive? Trip trip...Gang initiation... Motive of snathing cellphone in the Cotabato City? poverty...
@mdz43 I've been living in Cotabato for almost my years of my existence. Then, may I ask you? Why do you think that I am still Alive, that I didn't experience being Holdap and sort? Wag mo namang i-degrade ang Cotabato. Kasi hindi mo alam kung anong nangyayari sa amin sa COTABATO.
@10chiclet eh yan ang naranasan mo eh, Ive been in Cotabato last july, wala namang nangyari sa akin when I exposed my phone on the EVACUATION CENTERS. Pumunta ako nung binaha ang Cotabato. Wag mo kong barahin. Magkaiba tayo ng naranasan.
i commend you with the video jeremy! :) you really raised very good points... stereotyping is one of the worst trait most people could possess; you have proven that outsiders of the city and a foreigner like you wouldnt end up harmed in a city that was said to be a 'dangerous place'. you have shown how welcoming the people in cotabato are. not to mention that you have grown to love gensan especially after a series of bombing episodes and security threats. :D
Sayang di ako nakasama sa Shariff Kabunsuan Festival... :(
By the way, Cotabato City is one of the Cities in SOCCSKSARGEN.
Hindi po Islamic City ang Cotabato, ito po ay Open City which means both Christians and Muslims are uniting to live by peace. To Jeremy, hope I can be a part of your journey! :)
Great video, Jeremy! Very well said. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about Cotabato City. Cotabato City has been covered by a cloud of fear for a long time. I'm sure this video will shine a light to the real image of the city. Sigay Ka (shine), Cotabato City!
Your perception will really change once you get to stay here for a while. I think Manila is really a more dangerous place to live in. Thanks for this video.
@arkhilario correct! :)
