  • Haha after reading these comments I think that maybe it's weird that I didn't even flinch when i saw the gun.

  • @ghostsam24 lol same here xD

  • He's so calm when he pulls out that gun, saying "Relax." I really liked this guy up 'till that point. Now I'm just creeped out.

  • is this the pavlov piccolo speak off lol

  • All mad satanic scientist can go to hell.

  • if you want a really fun (and equally accurate) explanation, check out "Classical Conditioning at BGSU". it's hilarious - and you remember what you learned because it's so funny.

  • i often do this with my baby sister i did not know that persons had done this kind of things before.

  • 7 people were classically conditioned to react negatively to Pavlov

  • dude, that guy looks like Phillip Zimbardo

  • Relax... Boom! lmao

  • beware the type of people who use guns to prove their points, he probably carries it everywhere

  • Holy hell, I didnt think Zimbardo had the testicular fortitude to show his ass in public after that Stanford incedent!

  • @JohnRobertPosey He is the host of a series of educational Psychology videos that we watched in my first year Psych course. Haha

  • In Russia, Relax shoots gun.

  • "relax" boom,, Gotta love this guy. Haha

  • YES! That is Zmbardo! How funny! He did the infamous Stanford Prison Experiment and, consequently, gave rise to the painful but necesary IRB process to protect research participants.

  • YES! That is Zmbardo! How funny!

  • Zed, is that you?

  • i have a quiz tomorrow :O

  • ....RELAX...

  • Thats a good documentary.

  • learning about this help save my love, just sharing.

Someone says fuck you to me,i don't associate

it with anything ,then the person looks like a fool by them self.

No! fuck you, your not going to dictate(reality)on how i should perceive

this situation nor deal with it.

for a matter of fact im going to disarm this whole situation,i surrender, yo win.

Hush be quiet, don't let him know that was really my Choice, let im "FEEL" like he won.

  • 6 people didn't like "relax..Bang"

it made them startled and upset

  • Yes this is Dr. Philip Zimbardo. He wrote the book "The Lucifer Effect." It's about the way people become evil under the right circumstances and he points out his own troubles during "The Stanford Prison Experiment." When he allowed the subjects to literally humiliate each other in humanely for six days of a 14 day study involving roles. It wasn't his fault, it was just hard to imagine such an extreme reaction from the subjects so fast. Great book for the Psychology lover. Zimbardo's brilliant

  • excellent video, however, most discussions of classical conditioning dont have enough discussion of the time frame proximity between the stimulated response and the discrete stimulus, which allows a more complex message to be sequenced out over time

  • Pavlov, also the inovator of that beautiful mouth watering dessert , the Pavlova.

  • haha.... relax... bang!

  • this guys G

  • @m00035 he's the freakin' phsycology professor at Stanford, of course he's good!

  • Damn he is gangsta

  • CUTTINGTHROUGHTHEMATRIXoCOM

  • Zimbardo is so badass

  • im not a big fan of pavlov or skinner seeing that they don't consider to study the human mind itsself (which is proven possible), but rather see it as a black box. however this video sure will bring me one step closer to that B im aiming for:P

  • that son of a gun made me dislike the word "relax".

  • 3+3=7

  • Yea Mr. Sipple!!

  • yeaaa mr sipplee

  • Pandooora: Yes. It's Philip Zimbardo, also a psychology professor at Stanford University, along with Albert Bandura. :)

  • I'm hungry.

  • @pandoooora: Yes it is Dr. Zimbardo

  • i like this video but it does confuse me! what is a conditioned stimules and a unconditioned stimules?

  • @Jenna1171

Unconditioned stimulus is a stimulus that evokes an unconditioned response without previous conditioning.

Conditioned stimulus is a previous neutral stimulus that has, through conditioning, acquired the capacity to evoke a conditioned response.

  • bang !

  • i like how this guy pulls a gun out of nowhere

  • HAHAHAAHA

  • spoil it for everyone else why dont you :p

  • @gregdrivesajetta agreed lol!

  • @gregdrivesajetta Probably a starter pistol they use for races.

  • @gregdrivesajetta I like how it's the tiniest gun ever, lol

  • As long as the consequences outweigh the sadistic benefit, the bully will not bother you.

Master the art of rejection, intimidation, the silent treatment, both hands on your hips body language, ask why questions, glare at the person intensely with dissaproval... Any and all variations of these tactics will work on different types of bullies. Upright body langauge, ala, the Dog Whisperer also works.

These are just a few of the ways to send a bully packing.

  • how does operant conditioning distinguishes from it?

  • Operant conditioning involves a manipulation of the reaction to stimuli by means of reinforcing (positive) or minimizing (negative) the reaction. Classical conditioning is the use of a stimulus known to cause a reaction and creating an association with a completely different and unrelated stimulus.

  • @khanpreston1

operant conditioning is learning by rewards..

like the skinner study... the rat kept pressing the leaver because it was getting a treat

so basically just think: operant has got R in for rewards, rats. classical has got ass in just like assoction. i hope this helped

  • @Jenna1171

    thanks jenna

  • @khanpreston1

your welcome :) it confussed me at firstt :)

btw its me jenna butt i deleted thaa old one by accident :( x

  • God damn, that IS Zimbardo lol.

  • gimme a goddamn cookie and rewarding it, will probably have a suitable result :)

  • Is that Zimbardo narrating?

  • yup

  • yep

  • geniuos

  • That animated dog is screwed up...

  • Big fan of I. Pavlov here. They should looked at combat PTSD and compare it to Pavlovs classical conditioning. I'm curious to know what caused this intense trauma? Whyare these people personalities breaking down? It's obvious that they're developing new ways of thinking... Just curious....

  • @StatelessDave: You might want to look up 'transmarginal inhibition' for the answer to your question. :)

  • this is just association not conditioning

  • @terry4144: false, it IS condtioning and the correct word is generalization, and that is if you ring a belll, the dog salivates, hit to forks or spoons together to make a bing noise, the dog salivates too, it generalizes sounds

  • @kr4t05man The way I see it it is "associating" the bell will food and surely generalization is different to conditioning, conditioning is a form of brain washing

  • @terry4144: go take a psychology class, stfu and gtfo you fag

  • kr4t05man stop believing everything you're told I have been told loads of things from people that are teachers etc and they are often wrong I go by evidence and experience from life most of these things are just theories anyway I can tell from your ignorant reply that you don't use your own brain

  • Am I the only who's slightly upset that Pavlov's study moved away from studying dog saliva?

For to long has the scientific community been deprived of a comprehensive works on the properties of dog slobber.

  • The very same video was presented in my Psychology class at City College of New York. College education today lies entirely on Internet and sometimes is beyond what you learn in college. If you want to get a piece of paper that says, "You have graduated, congradulations," by my guest. Notice how we have shifted to the information era, where college education is not in college, but on Internet.

  • That guy sure was a very bored old man to study such a lame thing as the salivation on dogs. Hahaha

  • nice gun. scared me.

  • BANG BANG relax pal, lol ;) so brilliant vid. i used to learn that in my psychology class this is my favorite perspective including operating conditionning. thanz a lot for posting ;)

  • nice video, very interesting. I am studying psychology in England at as-level standard, we are covering the behaviourist approach, the biological approach, the psychodynamic approach and a couple of others, but the behaviourist approach is by far the most interesting in my opinion. this video covered classical conditioning very well. good job!

  • Were the fuck did he get the gun. lol

  • This is a very interesting video. Ivan Pavlov, was genious!

  • Yes it is Zimbardo.

  • his prison experiment is the best but the explaination for classical conditioning = good too =] nice and clear

  • yeah, it made it easy for us to understand, but it was pretty unethical because Zimbardo played too many roles during the experiment and in long term, it did leave the subjects fairly affected. Some of them needed therapy. :S

  • Is this guy Philip Zimbardo? o_O

    He totally looks like him^^

  • @pandoooora Yeah it is :)

  • @pandoooora this has to be zimbardo. He even has the same NY accent.

  • @pandoooora yes it is.

  • This was so help for me concerning this topic...the visual really helped. Thumbs Up!

  • dont act like this suprises you, this is why punishment works: if an action leads to negative stimulus, you soon wont do it anymore

  • Once you know how this works you see how the media and goverment is useing propoganda and conditioning on you . They repeat the same thing over and over and you should always be afraid or scared of whats coming .

  • Maybe it is already being used and we don't know it? maybe the screen you are looking at now is flashing words at you?

Scary world isn't it? Ignorance is a bless

  • thats what they did in clockwork orange!

every time alex see violence he he start to feel realy bad!

  • Thumbs up.

  • That's Philip Zimbardo for you... eminent psychologist and all-around creep!

  • this guy looks like a right cunt!

  • That's philip zambrado I think

  • This guy's explains CC so well, but then scares me at the same time.

  • You should see the prison experiment he did in the 70s...

  • haha i watch this series in my psychology class every day. the narriator kinda gives me the creeps.

  • he shouldnt be allowed a gun lol

  • Cool!

  • This guy is awsome

  • lol I swear I seen him in some kids show playing dracula

  • o man! thnx for the video. shoo my professor was makin no sense...damn she could made it dat simple...lol
