This new modern CGI version just doesn't LOOK like their inside of a computer at all. It just looks too real. This is the problem with modern CGI, it looks to real. So films like this becomes pointless. The original TRON was groundbreaking because we believed the computer world was real, because it looked cold and computery. This Legacy....it just too perfect. Since when is NEON the computery-thing? It looks like BladeRunner meets Tron. Two great films meshed into one. This kills it for me. :(

I think they filmed it in the same way as the Jim Carrey's Scrooge movie (using what's called performance/motion capture). @Janoulaa Hi, Janoulaa, One big theme that was lame was It never explained how Tron became evil. I tried to explain to my 8 yr old son. Clu and Tron were like Darth Vader, There started good, - then turned evil, - then became good again. But the story didn't build on this. I expected they could have said, Clu reprogrammed Tron, or overcame him, like Matrix 1, where at the end, Neo went inside Smith and blew him up. Maybe Clu went inside Tron and turned him evil. Weak story.
You can also tell who ever wrote this story was NOT A True TRON Neo-Phyte. They totally relied on the special effects which alone won't do it, and the whole story revolved around Clu trying to get out via the portal and take over our world. Finally, they never developed the A-Biotic Algorhythm, it was a cool thought, but that was it. But using the IT Term ISO was coooool, way cool.

@greanbedhead2 It fooled my fiance too. He didn't know it wasn't a real actor until I mentioned it to him. I think they filmed it in the same way as the Jim Carrey's Scrooge movie (using what's called performance/motion capture). I could just tell because his mouth didn't look right when he talked, like the characters off of Polar Express.

I saw Tron. The special effects were spectacular. But the story was lame. I was from the orig. Tron Gen. I played the orig. game and saw the orig. Movie. The special effects were way better. But Zeus was a lame character, he was supposed to help Sam but turned on him. And Tron became good again right at the end, and survived but nothing happened. You would expect him to come back and save the day. After all the movie was named after him. Maybe they are saving it for Tron 3 And Clu was clueless.

@Janoulaa Hi, Janoulaa, One big theme that was lame was It never explained how Tron became evil. I tried to explain to my 8 yr old son. Clu and Tron were like Darth Vader, There started good, - then turned evil, - then became good again. But the story didn't build on this. I expected they could have said, Clu reprogrammed Tron, or overcame him, like Matrix 1, where at the end, Neo went inside Smith and blew him up. Maybe Clu went inside Tron and turned him evil. Weak story.

You can also tell who ever wrote this story was NOT A True TRON Neo-Phyte. They totally relied on the special effects which alone won't do it, and the whole story revolved around Clu trying to get out via the portal and take over our world. Finally, they never developed the A-Biotic Algorhythm, it was a cool thought, but that was it. But using the IT Term ISO was coooool, way cool.

This movie was a total surprise for me! And it gets 9/10 from me! I was hesitant because many movies have tried to capitalize on previous franchises to make a buck from the boxoffice with a crappy movie. But i'm happy to tell you that this movie rocks! The 3d wasn't that great since it blurs the image a bit and i'd watch it in 2d HD like movies should be watched.To me it wasn't an option so I had to correct "my" heavy 3d glasses during the whole movie.
In conclusion, best movie i've seen in 5mm
