whats the best engine in USA ?

Does anybody else remember climbing over the "doghouse" to go back and lie down in the sleeper? How about lying down to put your pants on not being able to stand up? How many truckdrivers on the road today would know how to jack the cab up or even drive one of things down the road without running off the shoulder? Cabovers were ok in their day but I'd hate to go back driving one!

Seems like the COE, or Cab over Engine (see I know what it means LOL,) are a thing of the past. Its seems like 99% of rigs now a days (in the U.S anyway) are conventionals.Too bad. I like the old cabovers

Just saw a White/GMC COE with a set back axle and side fairings in Las Vegas, NV last week. Ironically it was sitting next to a Volvo Conventional.

yes i drove the across the country those old astros gmc , lol , yeah just kinda has their own atraction , ruff but you can just see better and park trailers faster yeah but those days are gone for me , for now anyway

lol, you know i have never rode in one, the coe are a lil before my time. but i think they are just cool too look at b/c you dont see them to much anymore. did they really ride that bad????

Well, I drove mostly mack cabovers with the camelback suspension on them, something like riding a bicycle down a flight of stairs.

The Kenworth at time-frame 1:40 is ridiculously long! No one could ever drive that thing with a trailer on city streets (forward maybe, but no turns).

Seeing pics of the old cabovers was a blast! My dad had a few old KW's and a 1978 pete BBC with a 1693,13 double over and 3:55's. He called the old gal his little sleeper,because not many new what was breathing under the old dog house!!!
