  • Thank you so much! This was VERY helpful!!

  • Is it possible that you can use any hook for any project? Can I does these bootie with an I/9 5.5mm hook?

  • can you make a video and make that one a little bit slower please.

  • @hoodamath1 ya it is hard because she is going to fast right

  • can i use a K hook and K yarn

  • i love your work! i already knew how to crochet but you taught me how to be better!! thank you :) do you think you can make a little sweater for a baby or toddler?

  • @mrsowens0515 Thank you! It is something I have had on my "to do" list for a while. I need to write up a pattern, which can take some time.

  • can you tell me where to find the written instructions for this pattern?

    thank you

  • @berniepynn The link to the written instructions is in the video details below the video.

  • Hi Teresa - I love your blog and detailed videos. I have tried this pattern twice and have been meticulous about counting stitches. However, the booties are way too long. One of them fits my 19 mo. toddler, but I want to make them for a newborn! I used the same hook and yarn as you. Any suggestions?

  • @McFallFamilyFun You can work a shorter chain with less stitches, then work the heel and toe the same for the shaping. You may want to eliminate round 4. The toe top will need modified working less stitches.

  • so these are 4 ply yarns your using in the video? do you usually tell us when your using 2 ply? i always use 4ply yarn to make baby booties and when i use the baby yarn(soft and smooth) my booties turn out smaller...but when i use regular yarn, they are larger(looks too large for new borns....so im just confused and was wondering. Hope you understand what im saying here....hahahaha

  • @Phaythful This tutorial can be made with different size yarn and hooks. You may need to modify depending on the size hook and yarn that you are using.

  • thank you so much:) i'm pregnant and i love your tutorials:)

  • thank you this video is very helpful =]

  • @sweetamy189 Thank you!

  • could you do it a little slower?

  • yay a totrial im making one for my uncles dog :)

  • @AznDevil1019 That sounds cute! Please share a picture on my Facebook crochet page of the dog in the booties when you are finished.

  • do u know how to make booties easier for beginners

  • @hotcurls102 This is a project that I will remake and include more slow motion. In the mean time I do have two other crochet bootie tutorials if you are interested.

  • This helps alot! I can't under stand anything in crochet books!

Nothing! Now I'm going to try and make this for my dogs.

  • @TheSunshinebunny Please post a picture of your dogs in their booties on my Facebook page once you get them complete. That will be cute!!

  • @tjw1963 My doggie booties haven't been so well! Apparently, even thought her paws looks big,(with all the fur) They're actually VERY small, And so, I'm having trouble with that! I will post some pictures as soon as I'm done!

  • thank you so much! honestly i just started crochetting and even i cant believe i have made so much. thankx. your tutorials are great!

  • Thanks, I was looking for a pattern like this for babies.

  • WOW! Love this video. I was trying to follow a book; its difficult to read the language of crochet though :)

  • @karateChica1 Thank you.

  • Wow, this is so helpful because I was thinking about crocheting baby booties for my friend`s baby(She`s still pregnant^_^) Thank you very much!!! I will try today!

  • @anurangi2004 You are welcome.

  • cool

  • I just finished these booties and they are adorable! I also made the baby beanie cap from your other video and will be gifting them at a baby shower. I have only been crocheting one month! Thanks for such great video tutorials!

  • Once I've establish the front post crochet and the back post crochet, the booties are next.

  • Hi tjw1963,

When we work on the other side, do we yarn through the front loop or both loops? I can't see that clearly on the video! Thank you!

  • With a chain, there is 1 loop you can work through on each side.

  • this looks really cute...it looks easy enough, i'll try it out and see how it turns out.

By the way, what did you do to your finger? it looks mighty painful!

  • @Phaythful, thank you. I think I may have pinched my finger but it has been two years so I don't exactly remember.

  • what kind of yarn do you use?

  • The yarn in this tutorial is 3 ply.

  • hi I had added a few more stitches to the boodie and made myself a pair and it came out cute I croched it in black

  • Hey! :) Could you tell me which size crochet hook I should get if I'm making a bootie for a new born? A hook that would give me no more than 2 inches across?

  • i would like to know that too. Let me know when she gets back to you on that info.

  • When you join after each round, what do you join?

  • You are joining the end of the round to the beginning of the round. The last stitch is being joined to the first stitch.

  • Is there a way to make these for a size 5-6 baby shoe? My daughter has big feet and I would love to make these for her! Thank you so much.

  • Never mind, I figured it out. I was trying to crochet when tired and sleepy. :)

  • Teresa, could you tell me the easiest way to to do Round 1 of the Booty Edging. I don't want too many across the toe. I can't decide how I should do it. I counted 18 logical places on the sides to put sts, which would leave 14 across the toe. That seems like it might be too much. I hope you can figure out my question! :)

  • I LOVE this thank you!!

  • You are welcome.

  • first i was confused about the stitches and later on it worked out well. i have tried with H hook i had already and my bootie turned out big in size for my daughter. again i will make with smaller size hook.

pls do post some more patterns of booty and dress for babies.

    thanks for the videos.

  • You are welcome. Happy crocheting! :)

  • i wanted to be able to download this video and all the other videos. how can I?

  • YT has been updating that feature so I need to go back and re-do all my video's for download again. I apologize for the delay. I will do these next. It will take a couple days for them to be approved through YT for download.

  • hi teresa, i loved making these for my little niece whom am eagerly waiting to c after 2 weeks.. thankyou.. can u pls post more patterns on baby booties and crochet baby dress as well.. i found solomon's knot dress a bit confusing.. can u post an easy pattern..

  • On minute 3:00, i get confused what you mean when you say to do 7 double crochet.

  • The 7 double crochet are all done in the same chain. This the bottom of the foot section. This is to allow for the rounded portion of the booty so there will be fullness and it will get larger and lay flat for a couple more rounds..

  • Ok- On minute 3:00, you said to do 7 on the last chain, but on 7:08min. you said it took you back to the part where you had an increase. Was that an increase to begin with (on minute 3:00)? Then you start increasing by 3 and then back to 1dc. On the 3 increasing, are you doing it in the same chain and then moving onto the 1dc.

  • On the second round, when you get back around to the rounded section of the booty, you do increases again.

  • u had one more bootie done with a maroon yarn!.. am not finding that in ur list.. can u pls send the link..?

  • You must be talking about the child slipper? I will send you that link.

  • thank you so much...:)

  • You are welcome.

  • what size yarn do you use?

  • This pattern is 3-ply yarn.

  • i have a size 5 needle so how should i adjust it so that it won't come out being to big?

  • I used an F hook which would be equal to 3.75 metric.

  • HI teresa, can u tell me a size D hook in the milimeter? In malaysia, a size hook is in that unit.. Can u help me? Thank u

  • D = 3.25 Metric

  • I tried making these with a size F hook and when i finished the sole, it was 6" across. is this just because of my tension? i am using a 3 ply baby weight yarn. i am going to try using a size D hook and see what happens...

  • It could be your tension. It could be the yarn or a combination of both.

  • i wana make a pair of these for a soon to be godsomething, but thats just the problem i dnt knw if its a boy or girl so what color do i make it??

  • Make them white or beige.

  • okay thanks :)

  • Thank you so much for the vid ;) its the only way i think i could do these booties!

  • You are welcome. :)

  • What if i only have a size G hook i want to make them for a new born baby could i put less than 14 stitches but i think that will change everything on this vid you done though! i'm so confused is there a way i could make it smaller with this size hook? i'm not too good with the smaller hooks my eyes are bad ;)

  • You can make the whole thing with a smaller hook. The alternative is to revise and modify the pattern.

  • well i bought a c hook but it was still to big so what i did was just start out with 8 chains then did all the steps you did on here except i obviously changed all the number of stiches and stuff! it wasn't easy but i proud to say i did it only got one done i'm scared about doing the other one! its prob hard to match them up!

  • As long as you are comfortable adjusting your stitches, you will get them matched up. If I get to many stitches in a round, I will do a decrease or if I do not have enough, I will do an increase. When you are finished, you will not even notice.

  • thanks for the advice ;)

  • i want to make the baby booty for my son but im confused at the size how many chains do i have to star from and doing the rest of the booty. my son is 7 months old.

  • You chain 14 to start. The booties as demonstrated will probably fit your son since they are made for a larger baby foot. At the beginning of the video, I am showing ways on how to make the booty larger or smaller. The written instruction link is posted to the right of the video tutorial.

  • can you do it slow

  • i hope you wouldn't mind if i made a request.

i would really like you to make a video on how to crochet a shawl. Thanks!

  • do you know how to make these for adults?

  • I have slippers for adults if that is something you are interested it.

  • yes that sounds perfect! do you have a video already posted?

  • Yes, I do. I will send you the link.

  • wow! ive been making stright lines for 9 years cause i thought this was to hard to make anything else but blankets. this was easy! i want to make more stuff! lol

  • I have plenty more where that came from. Comment or write if you need help finding something. I have a lot of hats, scarfs and recently put up some mittens if you are in a cold weather environment. You can find granny squares, flowers and a lot of crochet "How To" video's highlighting specific techniques.

  • i'm going on my 8th pair of these booties today! these boties have been very popular with my family and friends. everyone loves them! thank you so much!

  • You are welcome. :)

  • This video only has sound and a photo ad. Would love to see the video. Your video's have helped me a lot.

  • I just clicked on it and it played for me. It may just be heavier Internet traffic or Youtube system maintenance at the time. You can try clicking on the "Watch in High Quality", which is located to the bottom right of the video. Sometimes that works better than standard quality.

  • she is really unclear with her directions

  • Who is unclear with her directions?

  • I never imagined myself crochetting baby booties. I only know simple crochet and have never done anything round before. Thank you for your video. It is so easy to follow. I had lots of fun and made my perfect booties after the first try.

  • It is great to hear your success with the booties. I appreciate your comment.

  • Just wanted to let you know that your tutorials are GREAT! I've done the baby dress, beanie, and booties...of course there not as awesome as yours but i'll keep practicing. Thanks for the slow motion ones as well.

  • Hi, I am unable to view bootie 1...do you have any idea on why that is....anxious to make the bootie

  • Maybe your computer connection to the Internet? Try clicking on the words "Watch in High Quality" to the lower right of the video box. I don't know if that will help, but it might.

  • I`m talking about filet crochet charts.

  • I am working on a pattern but it may be a few more weeks.

  • When you said 11 double crochet in each stich I got a little confused because I thought you meant 11 increases, but I got it after I watched that part again.

At 9:17-9:24 Did you want us to do 2 double crochet in the same stich, or separate?

    Thank you!

  • It is an increase so it is in the same stitch.

  • Is your chain the same length as the bottom? If that's the case am I right in to understanding that you can adapt your bootie to fit bigger (adult) feet by chaining more?

  • The chain is smaller than the length of the foot if that is what you are asking.
