i heard yuou say "i like to play the real thing" unfortunutly, those clones are called nes on a chip systems, bassically, its almost the same as emulation, only you can use real carts, its the same with actual clone systems, i had to get an original nes just to play kirby adventure at its respectible framerate. neat systems tho dude.
Rather stick to my Caanoo with over 6000 games on it, most of them emulated to perfection or close. And it's much smaller, lasts longer, can play many types of games, and has full multimedia capability.
The FC Mobile 2 is PAL compatible if anyone is wondering. I have two PAL games and they work just as well as my NTSC games do. The games are TMNT 1 and Bart vs the Space Mutants.
@emojo1990 thats why they made the devices that allow you to rip the rom off of your cart so you can carry all of your games with you on your computer or handheld device. im not carrying my boxes of nes carts all over the place when with a psp is all i would need is the tv av cord that i own and an emulator.
@emojo1990 who says i didnt? only difference is i still own the games so im not pirating anything. also if you notice even gamester81 talks crap about how Sh!t this cart system is.
Why is it so difficult for these yahoos to get something like a portable NES right? It's 26 year old technology, four buttons, and a D-pad. It's not rocket science. Mixed up buttons, a split D-pad, sound problems, crappy screens, no built-in battery... I'd happily pay $75 for one that isn't junk, but that's all they seem willing to slap together for us.... garbage.
It's the same thing with those trash portable Genesis units.
i want a retrominix... ummm, looking back, ps1 plays nes games, and ps2 plays snes games, so i just need a screen and play... but it would still be fun if anyone looked at me playing a nes game, like zelda or shadowgate after class in a retrominiX
Those look pretty cool... but hey... let's face it... would you WANT to be seen carrying one of those around with you? lol, I mean... I wouldn't care either way... but... I mean... sitting on the bus holding some sort of rectangular device with an NES cartridge sticking out of it... is kind of a funny thought.
I think it's funny that people refuse to use an emulator because it's "not authentic enough" but are willing to use a NOAC (Nintendo On A Chip) which is about 85% compatible with Nintendo cartridges.
los colores en esta consola no certificada por nintendo pero legal..XD se desgastan mas casi siempre pasa eso ase poquito me compre una consola lanzada por fujitel S.A y los colores eran malitos
I think there was a variant of that FC Mobile you had called the Retro Mini, and a variant of that Retro Mini you had called the FC Mobile. Holy crap, a reversal.
I know you say you prefer this kind of stuff over emulators but really what is the difference. Most of the time emulators get the color and sound better than this stuff anyways. Neither of these mimic the feel of having an old NES controller in your hands either. Not that I've used these units but I can tell because the buttons are off as you said and they don't have sharp corners.
Please Help! I'm having some serious issues with my Retro Mini X. Some games which work fine on my real NES [Tetris, Mario 2, and the Duck Hunt/Mario cart] start up fine on the FC, but then get blurry, and often freeze, it looks like its circuit bending or something like that.
I can upload a video so you can see EXACTLY what's happening. This worries me, I dont want to end up frying any of my NES games! Have you had a problem like this?
The second console has a better button configuration than even the nes itself. Even with the super nintendo they changed the mario controls to where B is jump and Y was run. Which is exactly how the second console would play.
@Gamester81 could u say that applies to reproduction game cartridges too? dunno if u know this already but those are just NES cartridges with fan-translated japan-only-released famicom game roms burned onto them
if you want to play nes or snes games on the go, just buy a flash card for the ds and download an nes emulator for it and download some roms, then when you turn it on go to the emulator and open a rom and there you go you can now play nes games on the go
I got My FC Mobile 2 from Play & and Trade video games for 60 bucks but it included 2 wrieless controlers , and one zapper gun (etc) I got it like what 2 days ago great console you can play from your tv too which is more awesome ....
were did you pay 40 dollars for it? je je ...And can you tell me ...i just found theyve done these type of things ...can you tell me were you bought it and were i can get one please? i think this is super cool..can you please reply to me...please..please you gave a good amount of review on them ...i would like to buy one..thank you...
I hacked my PSP with the "Pandora Battery" (AKA "Maintenance Mode") and the Dark Alex's modified PSP firmware, then I got some NES and SNES emulators, loaded up a few ROM's onto the appropriate directories (Usually .\ROM on the working directories where the emulators are), THAT in addition to me being able to play the standard PSP games. You can also get other emulators, such as Basilisk to emulate the Mac 68040 with Mac OS 8.1 on your PSP, plus alot more on 1 single unit.
I got a RetroMini X recently (Lucky me XD). I got 2 games with it, one of which was Duck Hunt, but Duck Hunt came out all screwy and glitchy. Do you reckon its the cart screwing up?
For the FC mobile 2, they had the B A buttons perfect. Switching them where you suggested, goes in the opposit direction your hand contours. That makes no sense at all. Your thumb naturally starts south east, and goes in a stright line north west. Starting south west and moving north east makes your joint tired as hell, and makes games like mario a pain in the ass.
why, becouse 1 a b buttons are reversed 2 they put a reset button way too close to the action buttons,3 they shut not have to anny reset button on it.
4 the screen is just too small 5 the speakers more looks like old telefone speakers, only ugly availeble colors.
Hey thanks for the help on the newer one. Ive heard that the cartrage wabbles in thesystem a little bit. With your review i have more info on the portable nes system.
Wow awesome =) The other FC portable clone Game Axe Color FC-868 doesn't even have a dust flap.. which I think is really bad for your cartridges life :P

the design is ugly as hell as it feels more like the early 80,s puffffff
99 times out of 100 or actually more like 999 times out of 1000 if an original NES, a NES toploader, or any of the clones won't work it is because the cartridge connector on the game is dirty. Actually that applies to pretty much any game system that uses cartridges.
If you look on YouTube there are several different videos on how to clean the carts.
Stone Age Gamer (dot com) has both those systems, the second one is called FC Mobile 2, but same thing. I got one, and love it. At last, a real portable NES, instead of an emulator running on my GBA or something
i don't like the directional pad, it is like a sony playstation pad it which it is hard to move diagonally.

Agreed i think Homebrew Systems are better due to being more portable, ability to have more games system.
These Handheld Clones just dont work for me, due to the size of the carts makes it not so portable.
I do however see the point in the clones that plug into your TV that play the original carts like the RETRON 3-IN-1 and Famicon Duo

Hmm... the cartridge is rather obtrusive. It'd be a good idea to make a costume one; the chip itself is really small in comparison to the cart.

Clean the carts!!
Clean the carts!!!

Odd that the "FC Mobile" required and adaptor to play FC games...seems like it'd be the other way around...

You should buy a Dingoo A320! You can play NES, SNES, GB/GBC, GBA and many more games on it. It is brilliant! You fill it with rom files.

Yeah I thought about it. I'll probably pick it up eventually, but I own the GP2X Wiz which does the same thing.

Thanks for pointing out the issues with the FC Mobile. I was considering buying one but reversed buttons? No thanks!

Yeah there are a number of them, but most people probably have never heard of including the The Aiwa CSD-G1M.
