I actually tried playing this a few weeks ago but i messed up the controls so bad that i couldn't even get back to the pause menu anymore. Even though i play old games all the time it seems that today's dumbed down games have really affected my abilities.
I think it's the latter, i got it off torrent since legit copies are now impossible to find. Speaking of which, if you happen to stumble over a copy of Army Men RTS, please pick it up for me eh?

But you know it's just not the same without the box sitting on your shelf, with old games like this. It took me months to hunt down some of my old favorites.
You know what would make an especially asskicking Duke video? Play any of the levels that takes place in or around Los Angeles, slaughter all beasts using all the weapons you like (shotgun and pipe bombs would be my choices), and put it to the song 'Shock to the System' by Billy Idol.
I might just do that! Assuming it doesn't get Nazi'd :(
And I'd play it on "Damn I'm Good" so they respawn endlessly. Also, I'm trying an updated Windows version called EDuke32, same graphics but the resolution is much nicer.

My former ro0mmate (Hyphen79) and I used to deathmatch (one-on-one) in this on Playstation back in 1998-99. He's the one who got me ho0ked on tripmines. Later, I carried that love of sabotage over to Opposing Force deathmatch. The jetpack reminds me of PO'ed (1995 original, 1996 for Playstation). I used to have a shotgun with TacStar grips like those (except mine was a Mossberg).
I thought you'd enjoy it! BTW you pointed out it was a 1300, thanks for that! I liked the tripmines, they work well in singleplayer too. Duke really set the bar for the FPS genre, I only hope DNF can compete.
I was actually contemplating rigging my Maverick like that, I like how the game actually used real weapons as an inspiration rather than copy-pasting other games (I.E Spas-12).
I'd recommend a Choate Mk.6 skeleton stock (w/built-in 5-round shell holder), an ATI tactical foregrip, an ATI heatshield w/integral Ghost Ring sights. I'm thinking of getting a Hogue overmolded stock for my Mozz. Also a sling. Maybe a shell holder to put on the stock (in left-handed configuration).
I like those Choate stocks, too. Yeah, the Tacstar side caddies are pretty nice. I currently have a Remington 5-shell saddle on the stock. I am curious about trying out those Knoxx recoil compensating pistol grips (they make a pistol stock too). The only problem is that it's currently my home defense firearm, so I want to get a "politically correct" weapon like a levergun to replace it before I start experimenting with PG's and such.

I know what you mean, when I first re-started on this it took a while to get used to the controls. Are you using DosBox or the Windows-based EDuke32?
