And while I enjoyed the learning and academic experience, it served very little purpose getting me a job except for, perhaps, a jumping off point for a career in programming. After I graduated, I was tenacious in learning everything I could over how to program a computer using PHP and Javascript/jquery. Now I have experience on an enterprise-level project doing front-end programming.
the game design degree is a joke, 1st half is a shotgun of this and that while the 2nd half is writing a game design doc over and over. the program really needs to be that its get you started using the art, sound, project programs and coding for a base in the 1st year. then getting the writing part mixed into it with coding and advance programs. and lastly game engines, coding, and making a video game. itt tech only really give a 3rd of whats needed to get into the video game industry.
Even if the economy is in recession, it's better to have a REAL degree from a UNIVERSITY or community college than ITT it's a joke. Expensive, but a real degree says a lot more about you, like not being a sucker haha

I was looking at the I.T. program (I've worked in I.T. for 16 years), she started explaining their BULLSHIT and I literally laughed at that bitch. The curriculum was USELESS,books USELESS, I did the same at DeVry. Hey, I get bored.
I went to ITT for a tour, I'm 16, and the lady tried to get me to fill out student loan papers before the tour and I haven't even finished high school yet. I didn't even know what classes I wanted and she was like oh it's cool just fill out these forms and then you won't have to when you decide. Like wtf bitch you want me to get student loans 2 years before I even graduate high school? Obvious scam!!!!
From what I read and yes I understand any one can put anything on the internet but.. I read that all ITT Tech is concerned about is the #1 thing money they hire part time teachers and most of the class is online and they use "Used Car Salesman techniques" to sucker people into taking their classes.
I went to school with this guy. Everything he has said, I can vouch for every single thing. Sure, some classes could be better, but what got me was the fact that they took away the single thing that he and I went for "game design". Had no problem with VC, however, I (and anyone else for that matter) can say that a main reason for going to ITT that most VC students are there for is for Game Design. I work hard, I do my work and go above and beyond, I get close and what happens? Slams the door.
the US dept of education should close all these chain schools ( phoenix devry or any other chain school). College should be either regular private eg Pace U., elon, yale,or
it should be the various state universities. Also, only offer certain classes online. There are some subjects that have to be taught in class.
Go I a university, or community college. The books there are up to date. And you have 6 months of class's to work on something. 11 weeks of a single class doesn't teach you anything. Plus you only really get 8 or 9 weeks to work on it. Because 1st weeks don't count, week ten you'll present and week 11 you take a test. You'll learn more on your own then you will at an Itt tech. Go to a university or community college

All of the equipment is out dated. Some flash stuff will not play because they have an older version of flash. Through out the whole school there are only two non HD, Mini DV, old ass JVC camcorders that everybody has to share. How are they preparing us for tomorrow with the technology of last week?
That school is biggest fucking scam ever. The computers are shit. The monitors are shit. The staff is shit, but there are a few hot females that work there LOL. We only have one teacher that will teach you anything and if you dont get him....your fucked. A lot of the teachers I had no longer work there. One that I know of got fired for being terrible at teaching and the others quit. The computers up there caught a virus lat quarter so I had to reformat my flash drives losing all the data.

8700 dollars down the drain for a semester at ITT. Started my second semester and they cut the funding for the certifications. Went to withdraw from my classes two days before the deadline put all the paperwork in and it was lost. Still got billed for it. Contact a lawfirm and had them call on my behalf, the attorney was given the run around, phone transferred over and over for a hour. ITT just sends my bills straight to collection the next day. Fuck ITT.
Supportin ya man, luckily im done with that fail school, hope that Full Sail is better, really hopin, but hell, seein what they've sent me for classes, they take this shit a ton more seriously than ITT did. Also, Fuck Macs, don't know why I have to use one.
