@moedunny23 depends some of them come with intel core i5 so you dont really have to upgrade everything.. you probably just have to upgrade the memory to 8gb..

@mokle999 I'm sure you can upgrade the memory, but you will need to upgrade more than just the memory. In other words, you'll need to spend a lot more money in order to get a laptop that can play games smoothly.
ive had mine for almost a year and have had no problems what so ever, its a great computer. a friend of mine bought one too when i got mine and he's screen did crack. the plastic on the back of the screen is pretty weak, so i can see why it cracked. other than that its great for all your needs and to be honest the 17 inch screen is great for porn...
Update... been keeping the laptop folded under a shelf right below my monitor. As someone stated, it overheats quite easily and automatically shuts down. It seems streaming (Netflix) really heats up the laptop, I can maybe watch half a movie on a warm day. I have to pull it out and turn it back on and can feel the heat on the up right side of the keyboard. It sucks but oh well. Other than that, I'm still happy with this laptop.

It's alright, and its camera is 2MP, it can even record 1600x1200, but I only get 5FPS. When recording on VGA, I get 30FPS, which is really nice. It has almost the same keyboard, but without the Number Pad. It's 15.6".
As for the camera, I'm using the program by HP itself: "HP WEBCAM".
You get these programs at the drivers site, but they're not available for every laptop AFAIK.
Since this laptop has a short battery life, is it safe to keep the power adaptor plugged in while using it so you wouldnt need to keep charging it after every 1-2 hours of usage
@BoscoW0ng I've had this laptop plugged in like a normal desktop (monitor, speakers, internet, mouse/keyboard and power), it sits nicely under a shelf on my desk, I've had no issues at all. But that's something you might want to consult with the manufacturer.

@Jazhdz777 Don't take this the wrong way, but make sure you have a webcam. I know there are models that don't have the webcam. If you do, it's located along the top on the black border. It will be between 2 rubber pads.
@XxJoshFreshxX54 Sorry dude, unless I had a decibel meter, I wouldn't be able to tell you if it's loud. But I can tell you this; I am impressed at the amount of volume the speakers produce... though I do somewhat agree with JoshFresh, they are average.

I'd be happy to make an updated review to show things I have found neat and maybe not so neat about the laptop since I've had it. As far as gaming, I'd be willing to install a game or two to show where it's limits are if anyone is interested. Especially for those who are truly interested in this laptop.

@tinutzanew I know mine doesn't have bluetooth, one way you could check is to start the "Bluetooth File Transfer" program and test it out. The easiest way would be to just look around your keyboard controls for a bluetooth on/off switch. If there are no signs of anything bluetooth, chances are you don't have bluetooth.

I had SUSE Linux on it at first but now i have win 7....and I was searching for bluetooth thinking that the person who installed my win 7 didnt installed the driver for it........and yes i dont have any control for it on my keyboard just for the Wi-Fi. :(

@ calliegurl I'm not an network wiz... But I do know that there might be something wrong with either the router or laptop wifi if you keep getting kicked off. Wireless is always a tiny bit slower than being directly connected. Check other wireless devices you may have to see if the problem is the router or laptop.
hi, i just bought the same laptop. i have a question though, i have the netgear router, and time warner cable, who say we have the fastest internet speed. the computer in the livingroom works lightning fast, and this one i have in my room approx 15feet away takes forever to get on the internet, but once i'm there, it's usually okay. but sometimes i get knocked off and have to start again, so the ethernet thingy on the side of the computer, could i hook up another router to it to make it work?
@killashop1 Don't know, I wasn't looking for a gaming laptop when I bought this. Since most laptops don't have graphics cards, all the resources are being pulled from the main processor, so don't count on playing games on any laptop that doesn't have a separate graphics card... to answer your question more simply - NO.
@reloadfmradio it does have an up and down scroll, but it's not the easiest thing to use since there is nothing to stop your finger from going off the edge of the tracking pad. The buttons just need to be broken in a bit, ever since I made this review the buttons have become a little easier to press - in all honesty, they are noticeably "stiffer" than other laptops button though.
It's advertised as 5 hours, but I'd guess I would only get about 3 maybe 4 with lighter use. I also turn the screen to minimum brightness since it's such a large screen if it's not charging. It's apparently suppose to be a desktop replacer, but I don't go anywhere where I haven't been able to plug in my laptop.
