This movie shows something else then the general 'jews are victims with no will to fight back'-scenario which we can see in dozens of movies including the brilliant Schindler´s List. I personally found this movie brilliant both for the great craftsmanship om Zwick & Co and for the 'new' way of picturing jews like something else then powerless victims. The way the Soviet Partizans and Nazi Collaborators are portrayed is probably very close to the truth aswell.

Incredible movie! Read about the Bielski brothers after the movie (otherwise you know the end). It is an amazing story and I think it´s amazing onehasn´t heard of them yet. Everyone knows Schindler but what they did was at least as brave.
