  • Having used the AR for years there is a way to load it in situations like that HOWEVER you have to be ready to shoot the instant the bolt goes forward you slowly pull back on the charging handle, push up on the bolt lock, raise the weapon to where you are going to shoot. While holding the magazine press the bolt stop to release it and squeeze the trigger the moment it slams home. Just in case that happens again, although I doubt you will in the near future. It happens

  • @armymp76544 all I had to do was lower the bolt. He spooked when I strted to pull it back off of the bolt lock. He heard a click and took off, thanks for the info

  • lol..it happens..good vid, like the naration

  • @ElCoyotefromTexas next ones posted, I just haven't linked it yet

  • LOL "how do load a round into an AR quietly", you answered the question. I just knew you had a pistol or something...next time you'll get em..

  • @Reggy2000 I don't carry the glock when I'm sitting in the truck, I should have, good point! The next ones posted...

  • shoulda charged him with your tactical stick!

  • @fracwilt I was working on it when this hunt happened

  • Man that sucks!!! U were up and close to that hog. Cool vid!!

  • @camargopark1985 I have to build the next vid, I get almost as close the next night

  • Yep, if you were in hog hunting mode, you woulda had a round in the chamber!!! :P

  • @hogdude1234 first hunt with the new rifle, the owner had come home while I was setting up, made me miss a beat

  • KILL ALL PIGS!!!

  • @hogdude1234 Yes Shane, LOL

  • that was wild! ghost hog for sure !

  • @gnova68 It comes back... to that same bush, the next night...

  • DUDE!!!!!! AAAARRRRGGGGH! that sux.

  • @TXBucksnort LMAO!!! Yeah it did! But what a rush!

  • @dnahoghunter 2 nostrils, 2 ears, 1 anus, and 1 penis= 7 you could count the nose as 1 which would be 6

  • @bo4arrow LMAO!!! Funny stuff!

  • @dnahoghunter i wont give a man crap for his personal preference so long as he handles himself in a manner that will not get another an unwanted 8th hole.

  • @bo4arrow 8th hole? I count up to 6, wheres 7 ?

  • I was getting excited just sitting here watching. No shock you were vibrating. Should have had your tactical walking stick. Lol! Great stuff. Whats with the one dislike? A slip of the finger, or someone is pissed you won"t take them with you?

  • @2433006guy most all of my vids get a single thumbs down. I actually thinks its a jealous hunter for some reason, why they would be jealous of my one hog every 2 months I dont know. But most of my vids take one.

  • @dnahoghunter I really don't think, or at least hope, there isn't a hunter out there that would put dislike just because they are jealous. Hell man, if that were the standard, I would have to hit dislike on most of your vids! I am finally (after much therapy) able to verbalize my jealousy of your stuff. LOL.

  • Nothing is better than actually having a round in the chamber lol

  • @realbowhunter2506 you've got that right!

  • if that pig would have come outta there after you, could you have jacked in a round and fired before it attacked you.....it looked pretty close

  • @SwampDonkey530 it was close and Im not so sure. Those hogs move FAST!

  • Cool vid, better luck next time. You gotta let us know what happens. Take care and you will get it, can't believe they are so comfortable that close to the house and people.

  • @ewtoutdoors this guys been in there for way over a year. I have game camera pics of it and I know Ive shot this hog before. Theres 2 more vids of this coming soon

  • D, depending on the property i'm on i typically wont chamber until necessary. What i find helps using your forearm push the rifle into your shoulder while keeping the sights trained on or in the general direction of the critter, charge(cock/rack/make ready) the firearm with your trigger hand(be prepared to be quick on the trigger). pistols, half-cock

  • @bo4arrow good idea... but I do go loaded all the time. Even in my glock... I get alot of crap for it but I like to be ready

  • Cant wait for next vid,

    Really enjoyed this one

  • @BT1ZER I'm working the walking stick vids. Ill do the next in this series soon

  • them ghost hogs are bad azz :)

  • @nofgood4live this one is for sure! you're channel looks like an antis channel with the bunny comment, yet no disrespect... thats... uncommon... I rejected your friend invite cause of teh bunny thing on your channel. PM me if I saw wrong

  • @dnahoghunter yes i dont like animal cruelty,. but hunting for food/pest control ect.ect. i got no problem with that.

animal cruelty = trowing puppys of briges ect.ect.

one reason for frend invite whas the tactical walking stick. best thing a seen in a while.

  • @nofgood4live I hear ya. I went back and hit the friend button. i do the best I can as far as taking them clean. But we all make misstakes. In 2 more vids, hopefully you will hear the remorse in my voice for what I find after the hunt. I truly regret what I find when my hunt is done. Probably the worst I've ever felt. Stay tuned and when hog wars 5 posts you'll see what I'm talking about.

  • @dnahoghunter ah c0ol my frend,.what got my atention about this vid was the funny parts,.i do know the most peeps here on the tube, are resonsebel hunters.

back in the day i got a job offer at a meat plant,.cow and pig processing,.

i revused because a frend of my dit that work,.so knowing that,i know that wild hunting is a clean + decent way,.

now i am gona check ya walking stick vid out :)

  • @nofgood4live I used to slaughter turkeys for a liveing when a teen ager, and cook them, casterated pigglets, I did the holding, had to take our own chickens so I've done a bit of hands on with a knife. Thats one reason Y'all don't see me doing the sticking when dogging... done way more than I needed to when younger. Calebs been asking for a dog hunt. He wants to use the stick. I hate to hear the pigs scream tho. But I try to give him all the hunts he asks for so he will KNOW...

  • @nofgood4live .the differance between a quick clean kill and makeing one suffer. Without the hands on, he would never really know how I feel about it. Other wise, I wouldn't let him. I try to let him make up his own mind, but I do draw the line. But yeah on slaughter houses, BAD buisness they do there. With the turkeys, we had regs to follow about stunning the animal before the cut. I guese thats where I learned about clean killing. I didn't start to hunt til 12 or so years back.

  • @nofgood4live Hey. I'm glad you are one of the more decent commenters, and not the usual hater that wishes sickness and death on hunters. And you are prepared to listen! Good on you. And if you watch much of D's work, you'll find that he prides himself on one shot, one CLEAN kill. There are the "other" kind out there, but hunters such as Darak is just as upset with them as you are. I'm a dedicated hunter, outdoors person, and there are some I refuse to watch.

  • @2433006guy thanks Man! That means a bunch!

  • @2433006guy got ya there,. well thats whats all a bout,.understanding + respecting one another

    u see i got a 77 ford frankmont strait 6 200ci,i am a regualar @ the macdonalds and kfc.

i realy dont like peeps that talk bad of others while them selfs buy + eat "responsebel" not knowing that the stuff that they got is from child labor or plantet on stolen land,. ect.

  • thats pretty cool when you get that close to them!! it is a rush!! i know when im out and got a pack around me like that and its cold outside, i'm sweating, heart pounding!!

thats a sinking feeling when you realize your not chambered!!! lol!! nice vid Darak!!

    james

  • @BOHEMIANHUNTINGCLUB Thanks James! James, you and I really should get together for a hunt. I'ld have a blast doing nothing but stalking hogs with you. Theres so many things I wanna do but most hunters aren't crazy enough to film me doing them. Like my stick...

  • @dnahoghunter hell yeah!! we need to figure something out, do a couple night hunts!!

  • @BOHEMIANHUNTINGCLUB set it up. give me a few weeks, after the new year maybe. You have the hardest schedual to work with but think on it. No rush

  • @dnahoghunter you got that right, especially in the winter time. snow/ice can shut it all down. i was in -30 last night/this morning. thats not the wind chill either.... not to bad tonight. just around 0 or lil lower.we'll get something going for sure after the new year.

  • LOL Did you edit the "french"? :) Awesome video, even got my blood pumping!

  • @559hunter yes I did, I said "Can You Believe That Sh!t?" about no round but I pulled the Sh!t out... LOL, that sounds funny. I am mostly french btw

  • That was the perfect situation for your tactical stick...:)

great video man , keep them coming...

    regards

    sercout

  • @sercout I shoulda just jumped on him. BUT, 3 weeks later, after seeing the cutters on this monster I'm glad I didnt!

  • Love the hog videos, cant wait for more, do you have the video of Stalking Day time hogs on there beds 2/2 yet?

  • @xClutchCinema yes, it was posted the same day as 1. If you cant find it theres a link at the end of vid 1 to get to 2

  • Lol... happens to me when I'm duck hunting will shoot and be excited bout the birds decoying and forget to reload. Awesome video!

  • @staxx979 thanks!

  • Whats a ghostHog , D?

  • @latoywri one that Ive chased and shot before, one that keeps coming back... one that I cant kill...one that doesnt care if its hunted or has lights shined in its eyes... its a ghost hog!

  • Many paintballers and airsofters use setups that mock real guns. Do a google search for "airsoft camera mount" or "paintball camera mount". Or for that matter, search for "barrel rail mount". The cameras on most shooting hobby setups do use rails. You'll be able to have a light and a camera mount on your gun, if you don't mind a little extra weight that is.

Also, the cameras those shooting hobby guys use is pretty high quality and fairly light weight if you want to invest in one.

    Thanks.

  • @killyouin1punch You're just one vid ahead of me! I made one the very day after this vid and it gives a gamers view with the barrel in the top of the screen. Thanks for the tip anyway, Its a great idea!

  • had that same thing happen with a ten point three years ago. perfect shot. no round chambered. time to load, he was not the shot i could take. it may take a year of two. but if hunters help and work with others. hunts take place. ask questions. find people. ask farmers. get your name out there. it works. and funny thing. been saying for about thirty years. "if it aint loaded, might as well be a stick" but i forgot to load.

  • @whiteindianone thats a first for me in I can't remember how long. Like Chase says down below, I always warn people my guns are loaded... I just got busy setting up... Oh well, that will be the last time, I hope!

  • Its in my area can you give me the location , got my new rifle

  • @splinterman9 I was looking for help a few nights back. Usually its just a single hog

  • Lol D! You say at my ranch "my guns are always hot! A gun ain't no good if it's not loaded!" what happened?!? Kinda like the time I walked into that creek without my pistol and jumped a hog 5 feet away.

  • @hogchaser85 I put the clip in and got some stuff ready... forgot to drop the bolt. Happens!

  • I have 2 deal with the same thing as thess518. Here in cali if you want to get to the good hog hunting places you have 2 go more up north. Otherwise pay 350 for a hog. And thats the cheapest I have seen for a hog hunt around here.

  • @powerboxsoad I drive anywhere from 20 mins to 6 hours for hogs. Average 2 hours. 1 hour to my hill country spot, 2 hours to HogChasers, Hog Zone is 3.5 hours and Shane is about 6. You want them, you gotta pay the gas or the fee...

  • @dnahoghunter haha thats what i call determination. the only prob is if i go i wont be familiar with those areas where they would be. slight risk of going alone especially since i hardy have any hunting experience. this was my first year and i had my uncle with me at the mountains where i went and he knew those areas like the back of his hand. he goes there every year. but hey ive got to learn somehow. just gotta be prepared.

  • @powerboxsoad get a cheap GPS, I use one even on small properties

  • Damn that sucks. And it would have been the first kill with that rifle too.

  • @powerboxsoad Yeah It woud have been. the first confirmed kill turned out to be a coon. But before the coon, and in the next Hog Wars...

  • Dang! Plain ol' bad luck. You will get that monster soon enough.

  • @jstrunck I shoulda just jumped on him!

  • @dnahoghunter, dude I hate it for you. Man that has got be frustrating. Oh, well. At least you know he isn't scare of humans, he'll be back and you will get you chance. I am waiting to see that M&P kill a hog. I killed a burn barrel with mine today. I wish I had a good place to hog hunt here in NC. The closest concentration is 3 hours away, or you have to pay a guide $500 for a hunt.

  • @thess518 ouch!!! So many hogs that need to go, I dont know how anyone can get away with charging

  • @thess518 use tube to find other tubers in that area in NC and get to know them. Thats just what Im doing here on my channel... Shane, Richard, Chase... all hunters fron YouTube
