you dont have to play modern warfare to under stand mw2, but overall after playing both i think that the first modern warfare beats its sequel, so i would definitely recommend you play that first

Spec ops is not "split screen online". It's just split screen with someone playing right next to you.

Also, you can play Spec ops alone, or online with 1 friend.

The online datebase is really great theres more and more people coming to this game everyday and the online servers are done so much because of that this is a really good game if you like most of the call of duty series you will like this

sorry but this game is NOT that good imo. Graphics are a bit better, but the campaign is much the same as the first..not memorable. It's short. Online is pretty much the same with new crap added to it. Maps are ok. Everything's a "meh" for me on this game, but it's still fun to play with friends. I'd give it a 7.5/10. If it was $30 I'd give it a 9, but not when it's 60 bucks.

Basically Inifinity ward are not responsible for the server crash, activision use a seperate 3rd party server host. The party system is getting fixed on ffriday and trophies have just had a patch, few!

i was playing MW2 at my bros all yesterday through the morning and half of today and it's still the same as CoD4. the short campaign is another cliffhanger just like the last, and the online still has all the same problems. it's fun for a while, but i'm already bored by it because it's the same damned thing! all that's different is you unlock useless junk. then they have helicopters and tanks sitting there in the levels like teasing you. BFBC2 will destroy this! Killzone 2 already does!
