Hi Mr. ToneDr that was awesome but I'm just a lowly bass-player trying to help a guitar-player play the end of this and was wondering what you would use for the harmonic spelling of these end-part / fade-out chords? I told him this was what I thought they traditionally called chord-melody. I've got E9th, E [ 3rd high-note ]
A 9th [ B high ] A - C# high and then same thing with D and G chords 2 frets down is this close. I also believe there may have been a Maestro Echoplex
thanks for giving this a listen...much appreciated! Good question i'll try to answer at least in part - the ending of this tune is a series of two notes played together commonly called a Dyad or double stop. All the best with your music,
I like when you say your second finger still stays planted, but I think you should change it to, your second finger still stays Robert Planted. Nice lessons man!
I'm so happy!! I finally got this song right all my life wanted to play it. I had an idea but your video really showed me the way. It is so beautiful i'm going to play it all night long, thank you, much appreciated greetings from Mexico City !!!!!
This is brilliant, i didnt feel lost once and it might be nice for you to know that im a bass player! And i figured out the bass and thought i might give the guitar a go, i tried doing it my self and got the verse right, but you showed me the chorus and the ending, which i love. Thankyou very much.
Thanks for the lesson. It helped on some parts. The opening two-chord sequence of the verses, though, may be A13 (open A and high E strings) to E9 in the fifth position (open E strings). If you look closely at live video of Page, you'll see he's in the fifth, not first, position.
You have an uncanny knack for playing all the classic rock songs that I also love and grew up listening to! I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to your videos with you and your son playing! I know you have got to get a kick out of playing and jamming with your son! I gotta tell you that I envy you with all of your awesome Collings Electrics and Acoustics! Man they are fanastic sounding and playing Guitars without a doubt!
Hello Mac! Sure is kind of you to watch the videos and your post is greatly appreciated. Wish we could play some of the 'classics' together - brings back some great memories for sure - all the best with your music!
hello friend! Sure hope you guys are doing well.....your kind post is greatly appreciated!! My only questions is where are today's classics? Sure makes these good old tunes even better doesn't it.
Yes unfortunately; today's classics will probably be based on album sales alone. where some of the classics that we think of may have never had one minute of radio time. It was the songs you found by accident, on an album that you bought totally for another song(the one on the radio), that are the classics I love the most.
this is GREAT, mate. I was listening the goddamn song a thousand times and can't get the chorus right. Cheers from Argentina and thank you :)

Man I love these tutorials, not so much for the valuable information--because I have no idea what you're talking about:-)
More because people may better understand some of the dynamics that go into these overlooked classics. You do these songs justice! Rock on man! Dice

Recently caught a bit of Jimmy Page

or something like that. It had The Edge on it also from U2. Pretty cool from what I saw.
