I would have chosen #1 as well. I especially like what they did to the kitchen/dining, just wish their wasn't so much white throughout the place - makes it seem more like a show room than a home.
#2 I hated. I have to have windows.
#3 was interesting. Didn't like the kitchen, but the circular layout was quite neat.
It kind of seems so fake and forced. He sounds gay, and she sounds like she's from TX or Oklahoma, prob. TX but maybe some connection to OK. She is kind of like picture frames in Target that have things written in French in swirly writing. It seems like it would just be hard. They definitely don't make their own money. Her dad is prob. an oil exec or something. They made a good decision with the place though. Good knocking down the price. I loved the entrance way to the second one.
@planetsomsom Lol these apartments would be considered very cheap if they were here in London. We pay that much (maybe a little bit more) for a 1 bedroom apartment in the city centre... so yeah they are not really loaded, it's just that real estate prices in Europe are so damn high.
I would have picked #2. My second choice would have been #3. My last choice would have been the one they picked. Just goes to show lots of money doesn't equal good taste!!
@planetsomsom I think they're probably beyond "loaded." In this episode they act like dropping a million on an apartment in a country they probably won't even live in PERMANENTLY is like walking down to the corner store to buy a quart of milk.
@GrayEyedMonster My favorite was #3. It was so close to everything in Paris and very stereotypically Parisian. The circular center of the house, branching off to the rest of the house reminds me of Champs-Élysées branching off to the streets throughout Paris.
I don't like their tastes at all. I don't understand why they would need more than two bedrooms, and why he would clutter his office with another bed.
all of those are HUGE apartments as far as Paris is concerned. And new, too. When I stayed there, I couldn't take a shower after 8:00 PM because the water in the old pipes made too much noise. For real, them getting places like that mean they are loaded.
And I think they picked the best apartment. And I agree it's stark. Hopefully it is only so stark because they haven't fully finihsed decorating yet. They spent a lot on the remodel, maybe give them some time to buy more stuff!

Hated the 2nd place. I like to look out the window, personally, not just have skylights.
They made the right choice. #3 would be very noisy all the traffic and above a busy restaurant.

I would have picked #3 personally. And where the heck is their furniture? They needed all the space and for what??

it seems like being in a 'cool' neighbourhood is very important to them, strangely.
I would have picked #3 - seeing that apartment made me make strange moans of approval! lol

the marais apt was ok but i think for most people they would choose the 3rd apt. although they did an ok job with the renovation.
