  • Great video , very nice sound programming , the lead sound is wonderful!

  • Comment removed

  • Nothin' but net! Excellent.

  • Jesus Christ! It sounds almost like the original. Clear sound. Very good.

  • nice sounds

  • Wonderful piano!

  • Sounds awesome! I want a Virus TI2! A+

  • Not bad for digital...

  • nice 1 !!!!!!!!!!

  • As an owner of a Virus TI and a Virus C... and a fan of Blade Runner... I am Impressed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think your version is better then the original :)

  • WTF!!!! HOW THE HELL DID YOU PROGRAM THAT PATCH? I was just about to put my Polar on ebay and buy the Arturia V-CS80. What wave mode? What filter? Please share.

  • @bbow73 I had to sell my virus, but archived my patches for when I pick up another. If I remember right it was based on a saw tooth wave combined with a sine wave, 24 db filter, very large reverb and sligth delay. The trick was to get the VCF and Amp envelope attack time just right. I also used velocity and Aftertouch to modulate the filter.... I was also able to make one with Omnisphere thats very close also. I would reccomend Omnisphere over cs80v myself.. I have both.

    Cheers

  • @module19 Would you maybe care to post the patches for other Virus owners out there?

And sorry to hear that you had to sell your Virus :( I love my pølar and will never give her up.

  • @nisroch I have a whole bank of patches for the VIrus, I do a lot of programming... But I do not share most of my patches because of all the hours I spent making them. I hope to have patch libraries for multiple hard and soft synths available for sale some time in the future.

    Cheers ,

  • You real nailed it in this video! Bravo for your efforts! :) I'm blown away at how close to a CS-80 the Virus sounds. I think I can speak for most viewers in saying that your collection of videos are an inspiration to us all.

  • @dfusion2000 Thanks for the kind comments! I tend to rush through making and posting videos (dont have a lot of free time) and sometimes they are not well produced. Comments like yours are great encouragement to post more, glad to know you enjoy them.

    Cheers

  • absolutely LOVED it

  • Wow, I am amazed at your accuracy in your reproduction. Incredibly well done!

  • Fantastic Sound ; )

  • Wow!! Excellent ;-))

  • Nice!

  • thanks so much, I am rather- more old school and do not want to use the computer AT ALL - just plug into amp and play and if I want to record I use an outside 16track module - what you wrote seems fantastic, when I set up the parameters to midi channel 1, I can just use the board right? So you set the number paramters for the sound prgramming, then something will come on the screen asking you the key range? Can you set the sound prgramming first then go into Mult-ti mode - and key range?

  • @realguy640 I think you might want to download and go over the manual from Access web site, there are also video tutorials...

  • @realguy640 can you tell me of the 16 track module that you use. I assume your recording method generates MUCH better quality. no?

  • Hey great video - The Virus is AMAZING best money I ever spent - it is being deilvered - quick question, this is such a simple feature that has ben around sinc ehte late 80's the manula I looked at on line actually glossed over it - can someone on here tell me - I am sure it is just a fw steps - how to do splits or multi-mode - I simply want a bass sound on two lower octaves and a nice lead or the rest - how to pset the split point on any part would be geat too - help out an old school dude:)

  • @realguy640 Hi There, You just go to multi mode, select a part , set each part to midi channel 1, setup program numbers and your key ranges for each part . Or you could do the same thing with the editor vst on a computer... there are good tutorials on Access web site also...

  • Bravo, that does sound very very close, which is surprising for a virus! What reverb did you use? and how did you get the background blade runner bell sounds and stuff without the synths playing? Good job :)

  • @reflekshun Hi, Thanks. The reverb was the built in reverb on the virus Ti for the lead and the strings from the M3 ran through a Digitech Studio S200. The out of tune Bell sounds and EP cascades came from parts of the M3 Multi patch I made and triggered with a korg nano controller on the floor. The "burst" sounds at the beginning and end were sampled and triggered on my DAW software.

    Cheers

  • @module19 very nice! Thanks for the info its inspiring to hear a job well done like this on synths :)

  • NICE!!!

New TI owner here- HELP - when spllting, I know you can change the setting for each zone and sound you play in - can you control volume level for each split (do you have to save the sound)? So you can have a lower volume set on a bass ound on one octave and a slightly higher volume on another octave? Anyone who can answer would be so appreciated!!!!!.

  • I love this pieces of music and you do it absolutely credit! Very nice ;)

  • Thankyou so much

    that was brilliant

  • Sound and video arent really synced....looks a little bit fake to me

  • @Porly62 Hi...I can assure you its not fake. The audio was recorded seperately from the video into my DAW and then merged with the video (out of sync). This was because the audio was so poor from my camcorder microphone on my last couple videos. I will probably redo this one at some point and sync it up better....

    Cheers

  • realoy nice...

  • Thanks!

  • well then, sorry bout that mate! ;-) my bad

  • The Access is rather brittle sounding and the strings are thin, but not bad for digital....

  • @mutantmoments haha what? the virus is not brittle or thin, in the right hands it can sound as fat and warm as anything else

  • What ?

Just my opinion, I prefer analogue synths to VA synths, they have a much more organic sound, VA's are just a computer with a keyboard. Its like comparing CD to Vinyl.

  • @mutantmoments haha well actually its not really, its like comparing an old computer with a new one :P

but yeah people say it all the time, and im skeptical to how many of them actually have or have much experience with analogue equipment and va or digital or are just repeating things they have read.

sorry for putting you in that category but it happens alot.

ive done a/b tests with people who claim to know the difference and its not pretty haha

    peace

    Brian

  • Ha ha ha, old computer vs new, hmmm, not really, althought the Commodore 64 had a lovely voice chip...

Meanwhile I'll just stick with my Doepfer A100 system, not that I'm an analogue snob ;)

  • @mutantmoments well lets analyse this a synth and a computer are just manipulating electricity, Vinyl is physical in the sense that the only thing that is electronic is the amplification..

the only thing that analogue has isl resolution.....but as these days we are recording into digital media it seems a little redundant to try and use that argument doesnt it? anyway ill leave you to your Doepfer A100 :) ill keep my lovley portable virus which does more than a walls worth of doefer can :D

  • @sacredgeometry i can see your point of view, basically its a question of taste as is everything in this world.

I like what I like and you like what you like, have a nice day :)

disagree about the last point tho, the access is poly, which is nice, otherwise....

  • @mutantmoments defiantly :) and you too. haha find me a a-100 that can do as much as a desktop sized virus :) and i would be a happy man.

that said i do like the a-100s and analogue synths but the ones i want are famously unreliable oscar and early prophet 5s so i would never get one out of principal alone.

    peace

    Brian

  • @sacredgeometry LOL, I'd love an oscar, and funnily enough I nearly bought a new one when they were made, but I bought a Commodore 64 instead...hahahahahahah.....sigh....

plus its not about the size, and in my book, the more knobs the better, but maybe thats not something brag about in these digital times........

Plus we're taking over the comments on module19's post of what is a very good Blade Runner cover.....

  • @mutantmoments good point :) hope we bump into each other again :)

    take care

    Brian

  • @sacredgeometry

    later man...

    Mark

  • @sacredgeometry

I totaly agree. Thanks... BTW I have lots of Analog gear, If any of them could come closer to the Blade Runner CS-80 sound I would have used them on this vid. And M3 strings are anyhing but thin, he must have lame speakers on his PC.. :-)

    Cheers

  • amazing stuff!

  • fake

  • @Noizedrive No this is not fake. As it says on the description I reorded the audio seperately because th audio from the camera mike was so poor. The video is not synced to the audio well.

  • nice score

  • Awesome!

I really liked the fat & lush sounds from the Virus

The pads & strings are very pretty.........do you have the Korg Triton Extreme?

Looking forward to future Virus & Korg videos

  • Thanks, I have the Korg M3 and a Triton Classic but not the Extreme model...

  • Wow! Two incredible machines and great player!!!

  • @Solaris1992 Thanks!!

  • Two words describe this PURE TALENT

  • Thanks for nice comments :-) Glad you liked it...

  • Awesome!

    Very nice musicianship!

Very lush & deep sounding...sooooooo FAT!

I have a KORG Triton Extreme & Virus TI 2, which patches do you suggest that would come close to Bladerunner theme? I'm do not know how to program yet...

    Thanks....Looking forward to more videos

  • Hey Thanks! There might be some sawtooth patches that are close but you will have to edit the filter attack and add reverb...

  • I still can't get over how lush sounding the CS-80 recreation is on the Virus. One of the best I have heard and kudos to your outstanding programming skills.

  • Wow, Thanks for the nice comments!

  • NAILED IT!!! Awesome. Never tire of this movie.

  • Cool! Glad you liked it.. I never get tired if it either...:-)

  • Very good sound, I like it.

  • Fantastic. I actually loved every note of this as much, if not more than the original.

    w.mattsynth

  • Thanks! Glad you liked it...

  • The audio quality is superb in this video! Keep it up! (^_^)b

  • Cant beat those Korg strings and pads,I tried with the virus. But its true, the Ti is great for the lead sound!

Great Job,let me know what you of my "Ti only" Bladerunner remake, cheers

  • Cool, glad you liked it. I will certainly check out your posts.. Thanks!

  • very very nice. great CS80 patch. lovely warm strings. great work

  • Cool, glad you liked it.. Thanks for checking it out... hope to post some more original work when I have time.

    Cheers

  • Now that I have a Virus TI I can more fully appreciate the programming here. I hope someday you will be well compensated for your programming efforts. I would buy your set as soon as it is available. I know Edison said genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Hard work should be rewarded. I don't think you need a full bank of sounds ...just a good number of famous Vangelis and other sounds should meet the market. Providing 25 great sounds is preferrable to 5 great and 100 mediocre methinks

  • EXCELLENT WORK MATE........BRAVO!!!

Please make us a favour...mix and master this properly and post it...you lose 40% sound quality

    cheers

  • Thanks for the comments, might master it in the future... cheers

  • BRILLIANT!!

  • Thanks! :)

  • Awesome! Excellent patch programming on the Virus and M3. I look forward to buying your sound banks when they are available.

  • Thanks, hope to have some time soon to complete it.

  • Very Good my friend!!! Congratulations! Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

  • i Like It 5!!! The Sound Its perfect cs .80 in Erly 1977 ;)

  • Thanks!

  • This is great.

  • Awesome cover. I am very, very suprised with the Virus Ti. I am getting one of these in January and I had no idea such a synth could replicate such a lush sound analog as the CS80.

  • Thanks. The ti is great for making these types of patches. Access realy promotes the techo stuff, but virus synths were made for recreating lush analog sounds such as this....

  • very smooth

  • can u upload ur cs-80 Vangelis preset ?

  • Thanks for Checking it out. I am not giving out my patches, hope to have a bank on ebay for sale soon :-)

  • Thanks for Checking it out. I am not giving out my patches, hope to have a bank on ebay for sale soon :-)

  • nice!!!

  • Sounds fantastic, great re-creation..!! That Access Virus creates beautiful CS80 sounds..

  • Thanks for the compliments and checking it out. :-)

  • Wow Love this one... Virus TI is astonishingly close to the original sound. Great work.

FotecVideoVault thats actually a Korg M3 - 71 key, not the M50. But you can do many of the same things with the M50 its just not as modular / expandable.

  • Thanks for checking it out and your comment. Its a 61 key M3, wish I had the 71 (more room for split zones!)

  • Outstanding recreation

  • Thanks :-)

  • Very amazing sounds!

I like Your CS80 sound. It is possible to dictate the instructions to create this sound on Virus? Thanks

  • Thanks so much for your comment. I hope to post more when I have some time

  • well then, that's 7,000$ of synths right there.. is this a hobby you spend ur extra money on? haha

  • No, closer to 4000. Got some good deals. I buy and sell many synths to fund this stuff.

  • ah, great work btw, i love the sound of both the korg m50 and the TI, both amazing synths!

  • Nice !!! How do you make that CS80 sound on the TI2 ?

  • Using a lot of reverb, sawtooth waveforms and just the right filter settings with a slow VCF attack.

BTW- Its an original Ti and not the Ti2.

    Thanks for checking it out.

  • Das ist kunst! gz

  • Amazing!! Exactly the same kind of sound from the original soundtrack!! And you use my two favourites machines!!! I enjoy very much watching this video!! The M3 and the Virus are the best machines I ever seen!! Excellent work!!!

  • Thanks for checking it out and your comments :-)

  • yeah I would have to say that the virus does nail this better.. surprising really. I like the virus but I would expect the moog to get more of that organic movement that the cs80 had. Maybe the moog needed a tad more reverb and some slight phase shifting. Regardless both are really nice work.

  • Thanks !

  • Excellent work.

  • Thanks!

  • u win. that shit sounds amazing for real.

  • Thanks!

  • Very good job, man. Your patches are fantastic...

  • Thanks!

  • man congradz!_are u intrested in exchaning sounds?!!i surely like the patch on the virus!

the only thing that might get in the way is that i own the ti2,and maybe some sounds wont be compatable!keep up the good work dude

  • Thanks, All patches are compatable (TI2 is the same as TI Ver3 OS, TI2 has faster processors and a new case). But I am not ready to share my patches. I will probably put some banks on Ebay in the future...

  • ・・・いいっ!!w

  • i like the virus but more so i love the M3....so rich, spacey, lush sounds! good job

  • I thought the Virus was just for Digital Dance music. But wow it sounds analog too... Im all into analog gear do you think it emulates analog well in your opinon?

  • Hi,

I have owned tons of analog gear since the 80s. In my opinion nothing beats the Virus Ti for emulating analog. The filters are also so great! Once you get past the German techno dance preset patches and program it well or use the classic search feature you will find the analog sound you are looking for, even simulates out of tune oscillators :-) I sold my Minimoog, Juno and OB-8 since getting the Ti. Thats how good it realy is.

  • That's amazing. I was saving up for a Nord Wave but this has convinced me to get the VirusTI2 instead. The wave will have to wait until next year!

  • Thanks.. You will love the Ti, I prefer it to the Nord Synths myself. I had a Nord Lead 2x for a year or so. Dont get me wrong the Nords sound great, but I think the Ti has more power and versitility.

    Cheers :-)

  • Actually, nord leads and Viruses are pretty different animals, I've seen people gig with both for different sounds.

  • Yea, you are right on that. Each has their own distinctive sound. Would be nice to have both. I realy liked the pitch bender on the Nord also.

  • Unbelievable version. Great.

  • Thanks for the comments.:-) Glad you liked it. Its one of my favorite vangelis compositions.

  • Love it.

    So good

  • cool glad you liked it.

    Thanks!

  • Fantastic work! Very very good!5*

  • Thanks Freddy :-)

  • Is this the scene where someone is talking, something like tears in the rain? Anyway, great synth. I love the Virus. I just got the new TI 2.0 and its incredible.

  • Hi, Its the opening theme with some sounds from other scenes as well. The Virus ti is wonderful. The Ti 2 is the same synth but with a little more processing throughput. They both have the same exact sound engine, features and controls. Both are on versin 3.0 OS now. Awesome synth for programming and nothing beats its sound. :-)

  • I upgraded from the c, so for me, there was a bit of a change. Either way, I love how wide the sounds are.

  • Holy $%$^ I have the same keyboards! The sounds from the Virus are simply amazing! Excellent playing. And Excellent programming!

  • Thanks so much :-)

  • Good sound programing and composition. 5***** from me.

  • Thanks for the listen and comments :-)

  • Super Sound,klasse gemacht.

  • Danke... :-)

  • big sound,very good....

  • Merci ! :-)

  • Concratulation for this Video!

  • Danke, mochte ich Ihren polymorphen besten Respekt des Videos außerdem :-)

  • Superb sound from the virus, amazingly close to the original! 5*****

  • In one word : expectacular.

good job , sounds and gear.

    congratulations.

    5+++++¡¡¡¡¡

    Best regards.

  • That's great. You have a great feeling for choosing the right instruments which sounds like the original!

  • Thanks! :-)

  • Wow , that 's pretty awesome. I just got goozebumps. :) Good job man

  • Thanks, Glad you liked it... I really like your CS-80 compositions as well. :-)

  • I think, musically this is superior to your other post. Nice use of recording tech! I bought a TI Snow but sent it back due to a bad LED. I think this shows the nuance of the Virus TI and why so many love it....I will trade up someday no doubt. Just picked up a MiniKorg 700s so I can do my Kitaro immitation. Vangelis and Kitaro are my faves. Blade Runner is in my top 10 all time...no surprise. Your treatment is true. Looking forward to hearing your compositions as well.
