  • Wow, what a woman, what a singer!

  • This was ripped from the Soul Train, in 1974.

  • Singers were damned if they do damned if they don't. If they sing to the recorded track, kids whine about it being "lipsynched". If they sing live it's "not like the record". Can't have it both ways in the 70s, folks!! Damn

  • @IrisMG well you can actually, just don't put anything on a recording that your not capable of reproducing accurately live!, I still remember fuming when back in the 80's Pete Waterman moaned about the Top Of The Pops policy at the time that required all singers to perform live. His response was 'why should I let my acts sound bad by having to perform live' now to me thats an admission of jiggery-pokery , otherwise why should they sound bad?

  • @hedgehopperray To change that would require time travel. It was what it was.

  • super beautiful girl!

  • I haven't heard this song in 30 years...and never would have remembered it if I didn't happen upon this video by accident...and now I am going to go and download it!

  • fabulous, great moves, great soul vocals I've just become a fan

  • I wish Freda was in love with me. She has that certain something.

  • I saw her today in dc concert. She did her hip moves and crowd was masmorised. She sang bring the boys home too

  • This song was under rated. It is was one of my favorites of 1970

  • I remember a great song she sang name

    "Bring the Boys Home"

  • I've always liked the singing of Freda payne when I was a little girl. I was 9 when this came out and I remember singing this song at the top of my lungs at our local playground talent contest. I also sang "Band of Gold". I used to think she was one pretty and talented lady.

  • Gorgeous! Classy! Freda is fine AND CAN SING w/o showing her body off in a tacky way. She's still fine!

  • I wore a vest like that - brown leather -

  • Did'nt she used to be married to Gregory Abott?

  • yes she did...

  • I'm about 25 yrs her junior so I wish I could travel back to this place in time and really show her my appreciation, know what I mean?

  • It's good to see Freda singing this song live.

  • Band Of Gold was her big hit, but this was her best song! Never saw her perform--thanks for posting!

  • Freda has always been fine.
