Crankers like him have a tough time with heavy oil because they tend to throw it past the breaking point. Check out how many different angles he's using in the TOC clips.

yeah you are a pro strongsock, for your information, the highest score for a single game is a 300. Now if you are talking about a series (3 games) that is still horrible for 360. So there you have it.

a 300 is not the highest score for a single game....I've gotten plenty of 300+ games. Even hit 400 once a few years ago. 300+ is pretty easy when you average 280 on a scorpion pattern like I do.

My highest series on a viper pattern is both a 767 and an 842 that i shot a couple of days ago at Tarpon Lanes In Tarpon Springs, Fl. I shot it too with a new ball called a Hammer Raw Pain and a Pain it was to the pins, lol. When the lanes are really dry, i have to throw it from the 3rd arrow on the right, have it snap to the 2nd arrow on the left, and then snap back into the pocket. I love the new ball.

My average is 157 but with the new ball, my average for the last 3 weeks has been 266!!! This is a truly (it might be truely, but anyways,) this ball is amazing. Remember, the ball is only half of the work.

Can't say much about the pba patterns since I haven't bowled any, but judging by my humbling scores at the Usbc Open I can only imagine it's tough. I would definately welcome a pba style league and I am going to be a proponent of getting one established in our area.
some of the usbc patterns are harder than the pba patterns. they are not all that hard if you have the right ball in your hand. u still have to throw it good but just make your spares and catch those doubles and 3 baggers.
I agree stormbigbowling. I myself have a 191 ave at my local bowling alley and have shot a 300 before and a couple of 700's but Ive played pba lanes only one time and shot a 142. That shit was hard.

robert smith is frickin brilliant. of course he leaves lots of high shots the lanes break down on him so fast because of his huge rev rate but he still over comes those high shots because with his speed and rev rate he gets some great breaks. he has had many issues and problems whether hes in a slump or he has a health issue he has overcome them to win another title last year

There are alot of guys who talk alot of shit because they average 220 on house. But if they ever decided to step up to PBA Experience, they would understand why these guys are pro and they're at home watching. Trust me, i'm only averaging 170 on PBA.
get the sport series ones if you can. they are just as hard as the pba shots. seriously helps your game. and yes i compete in a tournament club that puts out the kegel sport series and i compete on pba conditions as well. they are equally tough.
That's what we're getting into. It's crazy. Some of the hardest stuff i've ever bowled on. Kudos to you man. Cause there are a lot of people to scared to average below 190. So they just say "fuck it". I bowl in a tournament club like that, as well. It's the greatest. They don't put out sport shots as much as they used to. But they're out there.
i said get the sport series ones cuz there is a challenge series and a sport series for the kegel road patterns. my tournament club uses both. and there is a difference in them. im just lucky cuz we have a national pro in my home center and he has them put out the pba patterns when he is home. and im good friends with the guy so i get to play on them.
wow a lot of people running their mouths on here...I average about a 225 in my league but the open tournaments I have bowled in I only average about a 209-211 and I get my butt whooped..lol...we bowled on the 50'...its a lot harder than these guys make it look.
i think you would agree with me that the only way you can really respect these players and their skill is by playing on the patterns they play on weekly then people will really know how hard it is

Well, I'm pretty sure you're carrying that 195 on a THS, where PBA members can average in excess of 260 for a FULL season. Forgive me, I can't remember who carried it...
Try bowling on some sport shots, and we'll see what happens to your 195 average... where Mr. Smith here will average 230...

not only does Maximum Bob (Robert Smith) have more revs and faster ball speed than most, he is also very accurate thats really not a good video of him, so maybe you should look into things before you leave comments. :)
jsparx...maximum bob throws an AVERAGE of 450 rpm he can throw up to 750rpm, so to say he cant control it is rubbish, your talking out your ass! He also averages 24mph and throws his spare ball at an average of 27mph, this all seems pretty controled if you add these stats up, think before you speak please!!!!

WTF are you smoking? Revs and Speed are a GREAT thing if you can control it. Has nothing to do with pin wieght and ramming through. Throwing more revs usuaully leaves you with a bigger margain for error.
I would ask someone that actually knows about bowling what revs and speed do to pins! I think you'll find that if you watched Smtih win his latest title that "his revs just slap the pins silly" quote from Randy (the pba commentator) think what you're typing before you type it please!
You can never have to many revs as long as you can control the change of direction down lane. Ball speed is also helpful except for maybe the longer (Shark) patterns. Robert tends to struggle a little on longer patterns because it offers less friction and he can't just wheel it. Anyone that has won a US Open is awfully good. That shot is brutal.
Smith is probably the best bowler to watch, no other bowler can get up to 720 rpm on his shots while throwing at the speed he does, I hope there are plenty more titles still to come for Maximum Bob!

robert smith is frickin brilliant. of course he leaves lots of high shots the lanes break down on him so fast because of his huge rev rate but he still over comes those high shots because with his speed and rev rate he gets some great breaks. he has had many issues and problems whether hes in a slump or he has a health issue he has overcome them to win another title last year

Thank you. Finally somebody said it. Robert Smith is beast. And everyone says he sucks. But if he did, he wouldn't be on tour. There are alot of guys who talk alot of shit because they average 220 on house. But if they ever decided to step up to PBA Experience, they would understand why these guys are pro and they're at home watching. Trust me, i'm only averaging 170 on PBA.

get the sport series ones if you can. they are just as hard as the pba shots. seriously helps your game. and yes i compete in a tournament club that puts out the kegel sport series and i compete on pba conditions as well. they are equally tough.

That's what we're getting into. It's crazy. Some of the hardest stuff i've ever bowled on. Kudos to you man. Cause there are a lot of people to scared to average below 190. So they just say "fuck it". I bowl in a tournament club like that, as well. It's the greatest. They don't put out sport shots as much as they used to. But they're out there.

i said get the sport series ones cuz there is a challenge series and a sport series for the kegel road patterns. my tournament club uses both. and there is a difference in them. im just lucky cuz we have a national pro in my home center and he has them put out the pba patterns when he is home. and im good friends with the guy so i get to play on them.

They average that on pba shots. Most pros average around 250 on house.

wow a lot of people running their mouths on here...I average about a 225 in my league but the open tournaments I have bowled in I only average about a 209-211 and I get my butt whooped..lol...we bowled on the 50'...its a lot harder than these guys make it look.

Well, I'm pretty sure you're carrying that 195 on a THS, where PBA members can average in excess of 260 for a FULL season. Forgive me, I can't remember who carried it...
Try bowling on some sport shots, and we'll see what happens to your 195 average... where Mr. Smith here will average 230...

Yeah im not going to argue that fact, however I could put together a video of Pete (PDW) weber or Norm Duke missing more times than not, does that make them, two of the all time greats, bad? I think most people would say no. I could also put a video of Robert Smith shooting 279, i.e 11 stikes and a 9 spare, would you then say he was great? it's not a great clip for strikes, it's more for his revs and speed and style.

not only does Maximum Bob (Robert Smith) have more revs and faster ball speed than most, he is also very accurate thats really not a good video of him, so maybe you should look into things before you leave comments. :)

jsparx...maximum bob throws an AVERAGE of 450 rpm he can throw up to 750rpm, so to say he cant control it is rubbish, your talking out your ass! He also averages 24mph and throws his spare ball at an average of 27mph, this all seems pretty controled if you add these stats up, think before you speak please!!!!

the point i was making is that he usually misses the pocket, so what if he goes brooklyn with a million revs, the scores dont reflect his pro status. your entitled to your opinion, but in my opinion, he bowls like an amateur.

so you sir are trying to tell me that Robret Smith bowls like an amateur, when hes bowling on a 50 foot oil pattern with about 2boards of forgiveness. 7 titles and he had a year off becuase of an injury, unless your rev rate approaches high 5's and you cant loft the gutter cap constantly, and throw good shots, and even join tour and bowl out there, then i'll let you make opinion.

Sometimes,having too much revs and speed isn't that good.coz if the pins are light,the ball may just ram right through the pins coz of its power and leave some splits like 4-9 or 7-9

WTF are you smoking? Revs and Speed are a GREAT thing if you can control it. Has nothing to do with pin wieght and ramming through. Throwing more revs usuaully leaves you with a bigger margain for error.

I would ask someone that actually knows about bowling what revs and speed do to pins! I think you'll find that if you watched Smtih win his latest title that "his revs just slap the pins silly" quote from Randy (the pba commentator) think what you're typing before you type it please!

You can never have to many revs as long as you can control the change of direction down lane. Ball speed is also helpful except for maybe the longer (Shark) patterns. Robert tends to struggle a little on longer patterns because it offers less friction and he can't just wheel it. Anyone that has won a US Open is awfully good. That shot is brutal.

Smith is probably the best bowler to watch, no other bowler can get up to 720 rpm on his shots while throwing at the speed he does, I hope there are plenty more titles still to come for Maximum Bob!
