@AlexElaineMary I play clarinet and got braces. For the first couple days it was horrible but then it got better. I play a little flute also. Since unlike Clarinet you don't need such a tight embouchure, it doesn't hurt that bad. It should not affect you flute playing.

your mouth is sore for a day or 2 but after that the pain completely goes away and the only thing you notice is the braces scratch the insides of your lips. which doesn't really hurt its just kind of annoying and uncomfortable

@meghanrachel4826 the molding to tell you the truth is pretty bad it's not to bad but they put it in your mouth and it kinda makes you wanna gag but it's the kind of gag when you get tested for strept throut so it's not to bad I personally think that your braces only hurt for a day but dont be worried it's just an ake I am so used to braces that when they come off it will be so wierd :) I love my braces

the colored bands keep the wire secure to the brackets. the rubber bands (you won't necessarily get them) correct overbites (when your jaw is too far back), underbites (when your jaw is too far forward(Like a bulldog)), or cross bites (when your bottom molars are farther out than your top and you can see the tops of them)

you don't really need to take pain pills before...ive had braces on then off and i have them again now and i get them off next tuesday. the pain really starts that night. and continues for like 2 days. then every time you get a stronger wire it hurts more(:

and the smallest rubber bands in huge boxes in my mouth. I had amazing teeth but this set up will keep my mouth in shape forever. I eat hard to eat stuff and I am fine. It reall is not tar bad. Just relax and don't be nervous. Because if how well I take care of my braces I am getting my braces off half a year early. Just take food care of them and food luck :)

Hey everyone! Okay I Got braces on and I was expecting them to hurt more than crazy! But honestly take a painkiller a half hour before and they should be fine the first day. Eat lots of smoothies and ice cream and just take it easy the first week. Brush them at LEAST 2 times a day. Later on in your experience you might have to get a power chain and rubber bands. These do hurt for the first day. I plan on making a video on braces but idk if I will. I have the thickest wire on my top and botto te

@puppylover11227 I was really scared too. I got mine on September last year. It did not hurt when they put them on, it was just sore after worth. There was pain but it wasn't extreme. But just relax and you will be fine(: The time goes by super fast too. It seems as if I just got them on, but it has already been a year! Halfway done!

@394missy I have braces but if you mean over bite, like I did they put little hooks on my braces (on four diffrent teeth) and I had to put little rubber bands on the hooks and it would pull my back jaw front. But im not sure if thats what everyone has to do.

@394missy If you mean an open bite like when you clench your teeth, your back teeth touch but your front top and bottom teeth don't ( Which is what an open bite is called, they'll put rubber bands on your teeth and it will close it. That's what I have.
