As for your statement regarding The Taliban, your absolutely correct. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) never preached such a thing, and that is one of many examples as to why Afghanistan under the Taliban was never an Islamic State. There are many things implemented in The Muslim World that The Prophet (PBUH) would never of condoned, such as Western backed totalitarian states.

If you are talking about shariah where religion becomes personal choice, as in the koran where it says that "there is no compulsion in religion then yes I'll follow it". If you look at Islamic history you will see that Islam was first to liberate women in a society where a female was a shame to be buried mind you get educated. Many important major scholars in Islam are women, most importantly the prophet's wife, Aysha, she is literally considered a walking encyclopedia who reported to us teachings of the prophet. She is one role model out of many for muslim women today.

There are many historical examples of how the Islamic state (which was ended when the Ottoman Caliphate was abolished in 1924) historically had accountability mechanisms. This a very extensive topic, and not easily answered when there is a 500 character word cap on youtube! Islam's political features are rarely presented properly.

There is also the Majlis al Ummah (council of the people) which is a central "parliament" that meets in the capital of the state. Both of these regionally and nationally account all administrative authorities, be they the Khaleefah (head of state), Walis (governors of each province), Amils (Mayors of each city) etc.

Some Caliphs, like Umar ibn al Khattab, often kept changing the governors of provinces because of minor mistakes/injustices. The Caliph is accounted by the Mahakamat Mazlim, or Court of Unjust Acts, where citizens can lodge their complaints, if they are valid, then the Caliph can possibly be impeached.

Shariah needs to be defined more properly before I follow. If you are talking about shariah where religion becomes personal choice, as in the koran where it says that "there is no compulsion in religion then yes I'll follow it". But if it is the shariah of evil countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar where if you aren't sunni muslim you are dead, then no I don't want it. Besides most of the shariah rules were started by Abu Bakr not Mohammed, which is why they are oppressive.

This Sharia law should NEVER be implemented. This barbaic "law" calls for stoning, amputations, hanging ,floggings. And please, don't try to tell me these punishments are deterrents. This fucking stuff is prehistoric bullshit, and Islam is the only religion carrying out these atrocities.

Wrong! The jewish law is what the islamic laws are based upon. The Quran hold litle legislation, and the Torah has specific chapters on laws, such as the laws, and the judges, which is much worse.
You obviously have understood the media version of shariah, without learnning what shariah is...

My problem is mostly if even if Sharia law is modernized, does it still need to be forced upon those who are not Muslim? Realistically, Sharia law will never condone the consumption of pork, or homosexuality. Does that apply to people that aren't Muslim as well?
Also, I'm a little confused why he mentions capitalism/communism. Those are economic policies, not social ones.

Infac shariah only governs Muslims, not non muslims. Shariah says non muslims are to be ruled by their own laws, except in wider issues such as murder.

Pork as well as alcohol is allowed only to non muslim under shariah law, homosexuality is stil a debate as the quran barely even mentions it and take the jewish stance from the torah.

Well, my family is Reform Jewish, but I definitely don't believe that we should push to have Jewish laws legislated onto others.
As long as Sharia law fits with the broader laws (which are fairly universal on murder, theft, etc) I have no problem with it, as long as nobody tries to legislate it on others. That's what a secular nation is. I'm not sure why he argues against that though.

The difference is that it's illegal in those two countries. People are actually able to claim legal recourse when they are abused.
