It's awesome that you, like me and several other youtube users, saw and videotaped the Maltese Falcon. I was actually one of the sailboats that surrounded it as it entered the bay.
This was a great view of the ship. I had wanted to be where you were but my hubby wanted to see it from the bridge. Luckily the fog burned off huh? There weren't as many people there to see the boat as we had thought there would be. I couldn't believe all the boats out in the bay to watch!
Yes, those of us up on the hill were worried about the fog, but that's typical SF weather and it was definitely cool to see the Falcon coming out of the mist to the west. As for the boats outside the bridge, they put on a wild show with several near misses as they tacked back and forth.
