  • Sean Penn should be barred from American for sympathizing with Hugo Chavez. Fuck you Penn you turn coat commie asshole.

  • sean penn is such a douche. he should swap spit with an aids patient.

  • So.....Penn is allowed to express his opinion on gay marriage (and even shake his finger at those who don't agree with him), yet Miss California gets bashed for...speaking..her mind....too?

Oh wait...I forgot. This is Hollywood.

  • ROURKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • senn penn is a douche bag, he should stick to acting and not try and give political speeches... it reminds me of "i am sam"

  • most of this little speech was hogwash but i found it very respectful of Penn for saying what he said about George Bush from 3:17 - 3:23

  • yeah right, he's talking about obama!

  • mmmm.......... nah, im about %95 sure he had to have been talking about Bush, i mean seriously who else in recent memory fits the term "elegant president"?....... see i cant think of anyone else either

  • I am as left as they come and am so pro-gay rights but I just want to turn the tv off when i hear him starting to pontificate...its so self-indulgent and self-loving self-righteousness...there's no humbleness or sense of humility.

"MR rises, again!" Can u not leave the DRAMA at the door for 1 minute??...geez.

sorry to go on...but this man seriously irritates the living crap out of me.

  • when the horse is gone the donkey will do be glad there is atleast a figure in the mainstream

  • I thought that Penn's show of respect toward Mickey's comeback was very, very kind; and it showed his humility.

But yes, you were right: he did go too far with his politics.

  • No respect for SP anymore bc of whole "let me go over to Iraq, Afghan, [fill in the blank] myself to really see what's going on and sort things out" Really, Sean, if we had only thought to send u for a 1on1 w/Chavez earlier. His arrogance and ignorance=laughable. He does disservice to actors who try 2 make a diff. by educating themselves on issues & acting responsibly. They all get painted with the same wide brush as idiot entertainers who fancy themselves politically powerful bc of their fame.

  • who is that guy in the cellar, weeping a lot? Penn' brother?

  • I don't understand why homosexual people need to have extra special rights, making penalties more harsh then for those who have more viscious crimes committed against them then those who are gay. Aren't we all equal under the law? And besides, statistics show that crimes against homosexuals are not anywhere near those committed against children, yet hate crimes legislation says that homosexuals are different and need more special protection than anyone else.

  • u dont get it. its not about people having their "rights". its about whats doing whats right. dont allow gay 'marriage' . your breaking down the barriers off family.

  • You poor child. We have had gay marriage here FOR YEARS and it hasn't hurt a thing.

    Bigotry hurts people.

    Violence hurts people.

    Gay marriage hurts no one.

  • In response to the comment directed toward me by TheSilverAce: You are totally wrong in thinking that I don't like Sean Penn. I've followed his acting career for years, and I believe he's one of the best actors of his generation. I just feel that he should have acknowledged his wife - Robin Wright-Penn - in his acceptance speech. It seemed wrong to me that he didn't. If it was me, I would have acknowledged my other half.

  • I think Sean Penn is secure enough in his heterosexuality that he doesn't need to acknowledge his wife just so the world knows he isn't gay.

    Grow up.

  • I'm sure the world knows Sean isn't gay. That's not my point, and besides - who cares if he is or isn't. It's always nice to acknowledge and include your partner in whatever you do/win.

  • Does anyone know there I can watch him wining for the Mystic River?

  • It's called Civil Unions, Sean. Gay marriage is pointless. Why would you want to be unified under an institution that disapproves of them?

I oppose gay marriage, but am all for Civil Unions.

  • Your opinion doesn't count. Nuf said.

  • Actually it does count. Every opinion counts, and those opinions have added up to protect marriage thus far.

There is no shame in taking a stand for something you believe in. Some people communicate that stance with hate, anger & intolerance, which is so unfortunate.

I love people, gay, straight, black, white, rich or poor. Protecting a covenant has nothing to do with equal rights. That's absurd. It's "equal" to to offer a Civil Union.

  • It is called freedom of thought. Simply because a person has "gay" friends and colleagues does not mean you have to cave in.

  • Gay people are awesome

  • Yes, we are! hehe

  • he completely deserved that award for best actor in milk

i just saw the movie last night and it brought tears to my eyes

it was absolutely wonderful! sean penn's acting was unbelievable! amazing.

i cant imagine an actor who wouldve done a better job

  • Sean Penn did an amazing job, not only with Milk, but with his acceptance speech. He was humbled and not expecting it at all. This shows compassion, love, and generosity to the great world view of equal rights.

  • Fuck Faggot penn and fuck pro-gay hollywood! FUCK THEM ALL! (they'll love it though)

  • I think gay people should have the right of a civil marriage ,as far as religion, well i think is time for a newer testament, because been gay is not a decision somebody makes and if it was, let the judge decide. Anyways most church goers sin on a daily bases so who wants to throw the first rock.Well theres only one thing i am against and that is that a gay couple should not adopt a child due to psycological impact after all gay is not normal othewise they be able to reproduce .

  • sean get your ass out hear you twinkle toes pussy actor and I'm not going to say it again ,,,fucking do a jack knife through these wires and choke your pussy neck . Tell Bobby he better respond ....you got that cunt

  • Obvious troll is obvious.

  • so we weren't ever supposed to ridicule Bush after he was elected?

  • He so deserved it, fantastic movie!!!

  • what does he say at first?

    you call me what????????????

  • Commie Homo Loving Suns Of Guns. It's what Bill O'rielly called people who liked Milk if I remember correctly.

  • Fuck Bill O'Reilly

  • I know! He need a nice kick in the ass.

  • I'm a Catholic. I follow my Church loyally but not to a tee. I believe that the Catholic Church can reform and I know it will. I believe that anyone has a right to marriage. Thank you Sean Penn for your tolerance.

  • jen must be happy that brad pitt didn't win

  • HE FFin ROCKS DUDE !

One of the best actors in the world =D !

  • Thank god he won =) he was AMAZING*

  • pause at :55 and look at the guy in back of dustin!

  • Good for Sean Penn! He's right! All you ignorant, self righteous, bastards who still hate the LGBT community will be ashamed of yourselves (my prediction within the next decade!) and you'll lie to your grandchildren when they ask you how you were voting when the world was changing! Go LGBT!! Go Straight Allies!! Go Tolerance!!

  • There is no shame in standing up for what is right. Homosexual relations are a perversion and abomination.

You listen to the Church of Sean Penn, I choose to listen to the Church of Jesus Christ...

Christianity has always condemned homosexual relations, this is not a news flash... Only as of a few months ago it became a shame? Exactly....

  • I don't worship Sean Penn- I respect him as an actor and I agree with him on most of his politics.

The Bible's Old Testament does condemn the act of homosexuality. But it forbids a number of other things that society accepts with open arms. Why pick and choose?

  • You christians think that everyone believes in your mythology and that everyone is afraid of your 'god'- you're so intolerant that you can't even entertain the possibility that other people are different than you. Why can't christians just go about their own business without trying to fuck with other people? No one else cares what your stupid book says- fuck off and stop trying to tell other people how to live their lives!

  • Why can't "gay" people leave their sexual relationship/friendship at home and stop forcing it as marriage to the public?

I think you are living in a delusional world... Prop 8 passed... Once again the voters have said they do not want gay marriage... Why can't you respect what the people have said?

80% of Americans believe in God and 71% believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God... Yea i think a lot of Americans care about the Bible...next loony please...

  • First- homosexuals getting married has NOTHING to do with you, nor anyone else except the two people getting married. NOTHING. It doesn't hurt you, it doesn't affect you, it shouldn't matter to you- but you're a christian and you think you have to control everyone else. Second- I said 'everyone'- I'm well aware that the majority of this country is religious- just because the majority says something is right, doesn't make it so. Holocaust- the majority of Germany. Think you stupid christian.

  • I believe gay marriage leads to a darker, not lighter society....

No one is trying to control gays. Gays are already free to engage in homosexual relations and live with whom they want. They are already free. Now where does it say you have the right to call it marriage?

Trying to compare it to the Holocaust is dumb and frankly seriously disrespectful. Hitler suppressed free speech. Here gays had the freedom to make the case and lost....

  • And yes, no matter what you delude yourself into thinking with your mythology, you should be ashamed of yourself as you claim to be part of a people who were once oppressed and persecuted by the majority- you now, centuries later, turn around and do it to someone else. You should be ashamed and I know that one day your own children will be embarrassed by you. I'm a straight ally of the gays and proud of it! The rest of you- stand up for your gay friends & fight the majority to save the minority!

  • Your whole philosophical basis amounts to nothing. If there is no God and judgment, why do I care what happens to me after I am gone?

  • I don't know dumb ass, why do you care? I don't- I'll be fucking dead. And yeah, of course love leads to a 'darker, not lighter society'- you pretentious moron, you just only want love that fits in your little black and white box. And I was not disrespectful about the Holocaust- you just can't stand the thought of anyone comparing you and your backwards thinking to something so horrible. Deal. We've got Vermont now too- it won't be long until this is all over and you pigs will just have to deal.

  • I'm done with this now. Neither of us will ever convince the other that we're right- hopefully some of you reading have taken something away and will have the courage to stand up to the majority. States are lining up- we'll get them all in the end guys, don't worry. Equal rights for everyone! Remember that it's great to have faith in something like religion, but it's never okay to push your beliefs on others- that's where the christians cross the line from opinions to oppression. Fight it.

  • we live in a VERY fucked up world

  • you can say that again

  • yes we do. I guess if you make a movie about some fags, its an automatic oscar nomination

  • Change your name to beasimpelton

  • i personally thing dustin lance black can turn a straight man gay just by looking at him i mean im straight but that guy is breathtaking

  • Really?

I've NEVER heard a straight man call another man 'breathtaking'.

  • @scorzeny: 1.Who care´s what his father was? 2. sean is irish for john and it is as jewish as joseph (mccarthy). Though, you´re right, he was the son of russian jewish immegrants - and? Unlike errol flynn (son: sean flynn) leo penn served as an officer and bombardier. 3.Critizising your country is a sign for freedom of opinion/ of speech. Any problems with that? 4. you speak english? "I´m very, very proud to live in a country....". What else does it need to attest someones patriotism?

  • I hope sean continues to speak out against discrimination.

Does anyone know who that young guy is at 0:56 ?

  • that is dustin lance black, the writer of milk, he also won an oscar that night for that. watch his speech, it is great

  • Dustin lance black

    writer

  • i guess he is the movie writer and he is not straight

  • JavierCA2008 = devil.

  • Don't want to ruin the discussion here.. I'm personally FOR Gay marriage, because I think it comes under equal rights for every human being..

but did he thank his wife?

  • Hahahhahhaha... lames comment ever!

  • Great tribute to Rourke. I personally believe Rourke deserved that Oscar.

  • What a beautiful tribute to Mickey Rourke Penn gives at the end.

We need to hear more actors speaking out against homophobia, the war, politics. They have a platform to speak on. To those who disregard their civic responsibility in the name of don't-rock-the-boat, I say shame on you.

  • Javier...Um...I'm a woman and I don't "repudiate" gay marriage - did you really just say that? Or do you not know what repudiate means?

Also I'm pretty sure all Black people don't all feel the same way about anything. But way to go on that.

  • Maybe I wasn't clear.... What I meant is even many women and blacks are against gay marriage... meaning many are not buying into the argument that "gay marriage" is the same as their struggle.

I believe it is not. I believe race and gender are very different issues.

  • Though I don't necessarily agree with your comment, I think what you're trying to say is that the struggle for the BLGT community, is the fight against the same kind of blind discrimination that black people had to deal with (And some times still have to deal with.)

  • What I saying is there is a difference between race, gender, and sexual perversion.

  • No but on a humaitarian level they are all the same issues.

It all comes down to peoples insecurities. Women were not allowed the vote because men were afraid. The Black South Africans were not allowed many civil liberties because the white people were afraid.

Now some straight people do not want Gay people to have rights because they do not understand and/or are afraid of them

To be against gay people you either have to be a religious nut with no sense, ignorrant or in the closet.

  • No it would be a morally issue, much like prostitution and abortion...Are you going to say those against abortion are insecure about it? Yea right...simply more people believe it is not right... It really is very simple. God has said homosexual relations are an abomination. Paul has correctly labeled it a gross sin. We stand up against perversion.

I am not against anyone individual. I am against letting sin in the door...

  • rude. god hates you.

  • But God isn't the state.. not everyone in the state believes in your god.. prop 8 makes "God's rule" the state's rule.

and I suppose by your reasoning, you believe we should forbid sgekkfish, bring slavery back, and legalize abusement of women? re read the old testament and get your facts straight.

  • We are not a theocracy. Yet at the same time people of faith have the right to vote their conscience on issues. America is unique among nations in that 80% believe in God and 72% believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God... Give it a little bit of time...

  • No matter what anyone says, Penn can deliver a speech.

And ffs let gay people be gay. What do we gain from stopping them getting married? It is none of our business. If gay people want to live their lives with a life partner, then let them do so.

Shoot ...with the divorce rate within straight couples, who are we to talk?

  • Gays can already be gay and they can live with who they want. Now they want the public to endorse their perversion as marriage....

  • and what's wrong with that? Same way women asked for the vote...

Or South Africans chose to end Apartheid...

It is not a perversion and for people to make such a statement, they need to look at themselves and see if they should even be allowed an opinion..

  • Women and blacks both repudiate gay marriage....

Now you want to take away free speech... Yikes....

  • 1. it's not a perversion

    2. with marriage comes a lot of rights that aren't available to people in "relationships" or even people in civil unions

I used to be more to the right on this issue, until i befriended some people who happen to be gay. I even love one like a close sister. and it occurred to me that some of these people are pretty awesome, and some are arguably better ppl than me....so why should i be allowed to find a form of happiness that they are denied? it makes no sense

  • I believe science and religious both show us this is not proper behavior.

Look no one is saying "gay" people are not good. I have many "gay" friends. My issue is marriage...

  • hmmmm science tells you that? that's just rich....why don't you google "Against Nature?" an exibit put together by University of Oslo that depicts 51 different species of wild animals engaging in homosexual behaviour...so i suppose sience says it is perfectly normal...science goes even further...penguins for example who chose their partners for life also create gay couples...not only that, they also take care of abnadoned eggs...and take care of the spawn anything else u wanna say about sience?

  • And you claim to have gay friends.....I highly doubt that is true given that you think they're perverse. You're not fooling anybody.

  • I'm a homo loving son of a gun.

Glad he won, and the film is great.

If two people love each other they should be able to have the choice if they get married. That is men and women, men and men, and women and women. The same as they should have the choice not to get married, not everyone would want to.

  • I noticed that Mr. Penn didn't acknowledge his wife Robin Wright-Penn WHATSOEVER in his acceptance speech. WHY NOT????!!! You should be ashamed Sean.........

  • Why should he?

  • She is his wife. She knows that he loves her. Isn't the love thanks enough?

Don't just nitpick at someone you don't like.

  • I honestly thought Rourke got robbed, but I love Penn, and this speech was great!

  • hey whoa now...the hated has now become the hater...sean penn condeming my right from years of christian tradition saying i should be ashamed for not accepting gay marriage? what is marriage anyways? could it be a christian sacrament? if gays wanna have their little unions so be it, but do not comprimise the tradition and integrity behind the sacred bond of marriage...isn't propagation of the species written amongst evolution? how well would gays procreate if we put them on an island?

  • What an utter bunch of sanctimonious crap.

You speak as if Christianity has cornered the market on marriage. It hasn't. Marriage exists in many lifestyles...religious and secular. Just because some marriages don't fit with your religion, that doesn't mean they're wrong or should be banned. It's about human rights...not religion.

No one should be telling you how to live your life, whether your gay, Christian, or both.

  • what are you now, a contemporary version of a cave man?? don'you realize you sound like you were born 2000 years ago? ridiculous.

  • Wow, now Christians enter the Trademark market. "Marriage" by Jesus Christ - what comes next?"Prayer"? "Charity"?

"how well would gays procreate..." O.K., supermind, here comes some bitter news for you: ALL gays and lesbians are prodruced by - straights! And most of them have parents that are married!

So better think twice before you explicate your concentration camp fantasies.

  • Try putting sterile and fertile people on an island. How will they procreate? Oh, wait. They're not gay, so you have no problem with them.

I have nulled your argument. Fuck you and have a nice day.

    Jackass.

  • "Try putting sterile and fertile people on an island. How will they procreate? Oh, wait. They're not gay, so you have no problem with them.

    I have nulled your argument"

Actually that doesn't null his argument, as being sterile

tends to be the result of a medical condition in which

if it wasn't for that any normal human would be able to

produce. A healthy gay couple would never be able to

procreate via intercourse as the relationship intrinsically

    doesn't make it possible.

  • If you put both lesbians and gays on the same island, of course they could procreate. Gays can choose to have sex with women, just as lesbians can choose to have sex with men. The sex isn't what makes them gay. It's who they're attracted to.

Besides, why bring up the procreation comment in the first place? The gays and lesbians aren't TRYING to procreate.

  • "If you put both lesbians and gays on the same island, of course they could procreate."

Yes, you just proved my point, procreation is only possible

via Man AND Woman, therefore is not possible through

man on man or woman on woman sexual conduct.

"Besides, why bring up the procreation comment in the first place?"

Because essentially that is the (primary) purpose of marriage, if brings about the next generation of

    citizens.

  • People can have kids outside of marriage. The main purpose of marriage is to join together two people that love each other deeply.

Of course, in my own opinion, marriage is just a way for two people to tell everyone that they're in love.

  • "People can have kids outside of marriage. The main purpose of marriage is to join together two people that love each other deeply."

But there are reasons why marriage offers protection as

oppose to just simply sacking up and much of that has to

    do with children.

  • @ samc023: Wrong. Sexual intercourse ´brings about the next generation of

citizens´. And as you know, it works fine without marriage.

  • Comment removed

  • "@ samc023: Wrong. Sexual intercourse ´brings about the next generation of citizens´. And as you know, it works fine without marriage."

Intercourse is simply the means, however offspring would

be the main reason behind marriage whether you believe

so or not. On the same token loving someone works just

    fine without marriage as well.

  • REPLY TO

""burmppootbarpmeep i bet you like it up the butt too, how many times have you jerked off to this speech? ""

Thank you for proving me right, At least you give everyone something to laugh at .

at least your usefull in that capacity

  • LamboK28992

heaven forbid you make sense, It's people like you who should be prevented from having children. why not explain what your idiotic comment means, or are you just a mouth peice that has no real opinion so you just spout bs?

  • mickey rourke should have won, we need more movies like the wrestler instead of these fag films. i don't care if you get married, just stop complaining about it. marriage is dumb in the first place. can't you just have buttsex and be happy without getting married.

  • I GOTTA BAG OF ROCKS THATS MORE USEFULL THAN YOU, do you act like a moron to bother people? or are you a just naturally a complete retard?

  • i bet you like it up the butt too, how many times have you jerked off to this speech?

  • sean penn is the earned man. and only a half brained man wouldnt know that

  • Anybody with half a brain knows sean penn is just an attention whore. I am a republican but respect democrats, but sean penn takes the cake for biggest faggot.

    ever.

  • Yes! :) I love him.

  • Who, sean penn? Why, 'cause he's hateful?

  • Christianity publicly attacks homosexuals on a daily basis, even though the life of a homosexual has NOTHING to do with your life, or your religion. The reason why other religions such as Islam and Judaism are never attacked is because they don't come out publicly against gay marriage. They understand this concept called MINDING YOUR OWN DAMN BUSINESS. They live their lives, as they should. Maybe Christians can take a page out of their book and realize that nobody cares about their opinion.

  • Christianity is against sin. Christians are against homosexual behavior, not the people. It is funny how Christianity has been against homosexual behavior since its beginning and people act like it is breaking news....

Standing up for what is right is never easy.

  • "Christianity is against sin. Christians are against homosexual behavior, not the people. It is funny how Christianity has been against homosexual behavior since its beginning and people act like it is breaking news....

Standing up for what is right is never easy."

Lol, my sentiments exactly Javier. In this day in age

its much more easy to compromise rather than stand up

for your faith, as if God's Word is suddenly negotiable

because its standards are to inconvenient for a person.

  • What Christianity said about homosexuality has nothing to do with God's word. God fearing individuals like yourself should know that if he didn't want homosexuals around, he wouldn't have made those feelings possible. It's not like I woke up some morning and decided that I was gay, it's a feeling that has been with me for as long as I can remember. I was BORN gay...and so were all the other homosexuals out there. You could say that God made me this way...

  • "God fearing individuals like yourself should know that if he didn't want homosexuals around, he wouldn't have made those feelings possible. You could say that God made me this way..."

No, God did not create you to act contrary to his will and

purpose. Due to the fact that we are inherently born sinners could be a huge factor in why we behave and

think the way we do. It is our sinful flesh, not God, so

saying God made you that way is far from the truth.

  • Keep in mind joecdn that I'm not saying God is the

violent hell condemning God that pseudo christians make him out to be. As any sincere Bible student knows that God

hates no one, but at the same time he doesn't disregard

his own standards, God's Word isn't negotiable and he

doesn't change even if our society does.

  • Comment removed

  • Why are we born into sin? I'm not going to follow a religion that makes me feel bad for being human. What about the bears? Are they born into sin as well? Tell me, please?

  • I'm most certain that you probably don't want a real response, but I'll bite anyways, as far as the scriptures is concerned, no it doesn't make one feel bad for being under something that wasn't their control, if you believe in the Edenic account then Adam and Eve were responsible for giving sin to their offspring. And no, bears aren't born sinner as humans are the superiors when it comes to morality and being in God's image.

  • Only people with real life issues or living in perversion have an issue with the Bible and God

  • I agree with that you said

  • "Christianity publicly attacks homosexuals on a daily basis, even though the life of a homosexual has NOTHING to do with your life, or your religion."

If you were truly being honest you would call spade for

spade, as the gay community is very vocal regarding

much of their contempt for christianity as well. While

someones life may not have anything to do with another,

it becomes a problem when children are secretly exposed

    and indoctrinated with pro-gay propaganda.

  • Again, absolute garbage. There is no "gay agenda" despite what your church might have told you. If there was, it would be an agenda to live our lives without interference or discrimination from the religious community. We want to be treated the same as every other heterosexual person, with the exact same rights and opportunities. As for "secretly exposing children", most of us want nothing to do with your children or ANY children at all. Nothing.

  • Nobody can take what the "religious right" on here is posting seriously anyways. Not a single one of them has seen the movie "Milk" nor has any idea what they're talking about. They've been told by a pastor in some church how to respond to this, and like the sheep that they are - they're going to come out en masse and object to it. These people have forgotten Matthew 7:1, "Judge not, that ye be not judged". Before they interfere in our lives, perhaps they should clean up their own lives.

  • Said it once, said it twice, I'll say it a thousand times. Mickey Rourke should have won.

  • When Sean was in Toronto I met him. I didn't realize he was a midget! In his role "I Am Sam" lets just say he wasn't just acting retarded!!??!!

  • In a recent interview on CNN, Sean said he got the inspiration to play Milk when he was in Indonesia scoping out hot young boys. Then he said "The skin-flute is a fine and delicate instrument in the right lips. When I play it I can hear the angels sing!!"

  • I thought State and The Church were meant to be separated.

I know I'll get a hundred thumbs down for this but I just can't understand how anyone with even an inch of intelligence can believe in a "God". But none the less those who believe in God wont leave the rest of society alone the way we are suppose to let them have their beliefs.

Gay marriage is a state issue.Church should not come into it.

  • Well, what's your IQ? Because I believe in God and I'd bet $100 my IQ is higher than yours. That's basicaly the popular argument of most secularists: everyone who believes in religion is just stupid. Well, unless your IQ is pretty high, it's you that are stupid compared to me. MOST of the world believes in some religion. But, according to you, they are all just stupid...

  • Let's break it down for you: you were raised by people who resented traditionalism because they were mal-adjusted, so they raised you to hate traditionalism as well. Now, that's not rational, it's called prejudice, and it's ignorant. You can disagree, that's fine, but to just have to hate other people because they believe something other than you, that's about as enlightened as the Ku Klux Klan. So, frame your argument rationally, but when you frame it with prejudice, you hardly prove intelligen

  • I was raised by Catholic parents. They raised me to hate traditionalism? No they did not and such a statement is merely an assumption targeting a personal area of my life, which frankly is none of your business.

I dont care what you believe in to be honest. But dont let it affect my life or the Governments that are in power.

  • @ tomikkkk

    thumb up!

  • gay supporters time and time again make the fallacy of making it a 'equal rights' issue, while ignoring that marriage is a covenant between man and woman instituted by God Himself. But let me say, whatever states DO make same sex marriage 'legal', it will never be 'ok' with God. It is sin(one of many out there), and sin keeps one from God. All sin, true, but the Blood of Jesus covers all sin of the REPENTANT believer. 'Believing' in Jesus IS to repent from sins also. They MUST go together.

  • God doesnt exist, so he could not have instituted marriage himself, thats rediculous.

  • Ridiculous to the small minority you mean? Over 3.5billion people on earth beleive in jesus as God alone, so many would disagree w/your stance fella. Obviously it isnt ridiculous at all. whats ridiculous is that some think everything came to be and is, and stays sustained by 'chance' and 'accidents'. Sorry/..but I do NOT have enough FAITH to be an Atheist! To be an atheist is not logicaL at all. Your 'options' besides a Creator are VERY weak. Most atheist just dont want to be held accountable

  • Im glad I was raised without any religion, it has saved me lots of problems. Proof to me God exists and I will change my mind. If he exists, I will accept his existance. However, this doensnt mean I will live according to his ideas. 45% of people in my country are agnostic or atheist, thats not a slight minority. (cont)

  • (cont)Its very hard for people to accept the universe and our world was created by chance, many people cant deal wit that fact, so to deal with this fear invoking uncertainty, religion was created (also, to control the masses). Its most logic to be an atheist, as there is no proof God exists and besides that, I have choices and I take responsibility for them, I dont need a religion nor a God, to do that for me.

  • I wasnt raised with religion either, as my parents were atheist and agnostic. Yet, by myself keeping an open mind, i FOUND THE TRUTH IN jESUS CHRIST. I'm glad also that I was not raised in church, because I dont believe by just falling into religion from my parents, etc, but I believe by being honest with the evidence. Also, I was speaking world wide in general as far as atheist being a minority, I wasnt speaking of JUST your small country but THANKS OF THE AWAReness..I'll pray for your country!

  • Keep your religious preachy garbage in your church where it belongs....

  • Indeed.

  • 1st of all..its not garbage, secondly it wasnt meant to vstay in church..it is meant more so to go outside the church to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. To keep it only 'in church' would be selfish..people like yourelf NEED to hear it.

  • Gay marriage was accepted and legalized by Swedish parliament today, in effect May 1st 2009! Go Sweden! :))

  • Even tough he is straight he fights for gay rights...

To all the conservative Amerikans who read this:

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, witch the USA signed, says:

    Article 16

Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution.

No where does it say that it has to be a man and a women who are getting maried.

  • Are you a complete moron? "Men and women of full age..." And then you say it doesn't say it has to be a man and a woman?

    What an idiot.

Everything else aside, how stupid can you be to quote something that negates your argument and THEN say it doesn't say what it does?

  • Article 16 says that men and women, not a man and a woman.

So a man has the right to marry and a woman has the right to marry who they want.

Where, please tell me where does it say that a man has to marry a woman. And don't say the bible because, in my opinion, it's just a book. A dated incorrect book. But as I said it's just my opinion

  • Go Sean!!!!

  • i guess the woman who put up with his cheatin ass and gave birth to his kids doesnt deserve a thanks or appreciation lol..

  • I wanted Rourke to win and Penn's aggressive political speech pissed me off, but having seen Milk I can understand why he won. Rourke was basically playing himself, very well indeed, whereas Sean was playing somebody who was warm and chirpy - the complete opposite of what I'd associate with him. Hard luck Rourke, but well done Sean.

  • grow up people. welcome to the 21st century. take a seat and shut your damn mouths.

  • check out the dudes teeth at 0:55

  • lmao damn what a scary sight that was
