@9:53 I don't know why you say it'll mess up the camera's internal focus motor. I've used E series lenses on my D70, D80 and D90 and have not mess up the motor. There's a "axle" that connects the camera's focus motor to the focus mechanism of a D lens. this axle is pushed in when using an AF-S or any older manual focus lens. it also retracts into the camera body when you switch the camera to manual focus mode.
@ithree6mafia i mount non ai lenses on my d7000 with an internal focus motor all the time, the issue is not the focus motor but the fact that non ai lenses can damage the aparture index ring on the camera as some extend to far, you an also modify the apature tab on them so they will properly index , this will allow you to use them on apature priority mode aswell as manual.
Are you in Aperture priority? I noticed that you adjusted the shutter speed as the sun goes down and less light. Would you recommend 1/200 for daytime and 1/300-1/400 at dawn?
Oh did you shoot with RAW? and did you also do photoshop to achieve the effect of the images?
@irwin770 im in MANUAL mode. its hard to recommend at shutter speed for a lighting situation without me actually being there but yes that seems like a fair shutter speed. I shoot JPEG. yes i use photoshop but for these photos no i did not use photoshop
I know you probably put the music over cause of the kids in the background screaming, but, next time, please dont overlay music... it annoys the hell outta me, its hard to hear what you're saying, i went through all my tabs thinking it was on a different page :P
what are the setting on the camera ?? i am having hard time taking the pic with D3100 and ais 50mm f1.4 and D3100..I am sure its not metering on D5000 also ...i dont understand how u are using view finder ?As it dosent TTL .Only camerad that can use a non cpu lense are D7000 and other high end cams ................???
@initlinux because i have had alot of practice with the 50mm, you have to get the shutter speed just right to match the aperture on the lens. I added annotations on the video now for the camera settings:)
well what if I turn off the auto focus, will it mess up my motor too?

@caomingtranhn probably not since the d5100 is a newer camera body.
