What happens is, once yo are approved to be a partner channel, you set up a Google Adsense acct and with each video you do, you enable revenue sharing to place the ads.
My account was hacked also. Fortunately, I logged into my account in time, and I recovered it. The videos were deleted, but I still have my account. There is no way to get back your old account.

my youtube account got hacked twice. he deleted my vids and commented on hacking videos etc.. .i sometimes even now read comments on odd vids of what the hacker wrote (curses etc...) using my account. Anyways i live by this motto u fail you try again, you fail you try again the only failure is when you stop trying. Continue doing what u love .peace
