Isn't it amazing how millions of Prairie Dogs and Buffalo existed in Harmony together for thousands of years and along come people and non-native cattle and now all of a sudden the Prairie Dog is a villain and a pest? I cant Imagine how the Great architect of the prairie and the creator of the animals in it made a mistake. Seems everything was ok until people showed up.
they are pests, they destroy millions of dollars worth of property and crop fields every year, you may think they're cute, but they are invasive and destructive when in colonies or "towns" as many have named them.
@flamedrag18 I withdrew the remark. Prairie dogs have been found to have language capabilities quite similar to humans. It is a shame some people seem to want to repeat the experience of the buffalo and wipe them from the planet.
@gphx there's a difference here, back when the buffalo were nearly wiped out, the government and hunting agencies didn't do anything about it until it was almost too late, in this case, it's different, the government and hunting agencies wouldn't allow the same thing to happen to prairie dogs, I understand that they play a role in the environment, but not to the extent that it's come to, they're so destructive that they even threaten other species.
@flamedrag18 They've been here forever and are part of the natural balance. That's like saying the buffalo were bad because the plains could've been full of deer or pronghorn instead. Man playing God is rarely a good thing. The black footed ferrets being a case in point. Equally as many species would likely perish from the unnatural removal of prairie dogs. When I was a kid we were taught to only hunt what you will eat and anything else is a sin. That rule still seems valid to me.
A masterstroke. Very vigorous, and the intensity of the barking at the end was altogether rousing. The comments do not befit the video, perhaps you could delete them. Deletion is what these thoughtless brains are most fit for.
Humbly, I too have made a short musical film depicting the noble Cynomys Ludovicianus, entitled 'anatomy of the jump-yip,' and would be most honoured if you were to view it, since it was made for appreciators of the PDog.

I find it funny that all of the comments about killing the prairie dogs are punctuated incorrectly. Coincidence? I think not.
