@cochi256 It is a diatonic mode, often used in folk music. :) Play a D minor chord with your left hand, and play random notes from the C major scale with your right hand, and you'll soon figure it out!
@Blixish wow it's amazing, you get a folkish sound out immediately! I totally dig your videos, that Darkthrone cover you made was excellent. You have lots of talent
@Trivium1994BANNED Råbra! :D Det kommer mer. Har to in the making akkurat nå. ^^)
Well..What do you know. That riff which is on my myspace (toxicvoidmetal) is heavily influenced by this scale...I wrote that that riff even without knowing this scale! XD
But now I wanna make one that sounds more "evilish chromatic" and les "royally intervalled"
@TheToxicVoid That's very much true. ^^ Also, the more you learn from these modes, the simpler it gets to express yourself through music. :) Thankfully, I had a great teacher when it comes to basic notation, so doing the research on these things has become a simple, fun task.
Yeah indeed. With these modes you can easily be creative, and sound original without having a hard time stitching the chords progressions or riffs to each other.

What are the notes in the Byzantine Dorian mode?
catsayswhat2 1 year ago
@catsayswhat2 With D as your prime, it would be D, E, F, G, A, B, c and d. So it's one of the seven standard diatonic modes. :)
