Clearly; everyone can hear from his interview that the Hamas leader will NEVER renounce violence and will never accept Israel no matter what Israel does.
even at that; he offers only a 10-20 yr peace. For what????? to gain territory and wait to attack at a later date?! Hamas is now and will ALWAYS be a TERRORIST ORGANIZATION that needs to be isolated!
How naïve of Mr. Haniyah to urge europ to play a more active roll in solving the Palestinian question. He should instead asked the europeans to respect their own Venice declaration of 1980!!
How naïve of Ismail Haniyeh to believe, or even think, that Europe (read EU and the NATO countries) can play a roll in solving the Palestinian question. Those countries cannot be neutral as they are in the little pocket of the US and the zionist state of Israel
Recognizing Israel has two faces; the fact that Israel exists on the map, only the blind cannot recognize that. How about the legitimacy of this existence ? Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims have all the right not to recognize such a 'claimed' right. I would imagine it would be the same natural response if Israel was created on European land or a US state wiping a complete country out off the map and causing sufferings to the millions of its people !!
What a dumb interviewer! Haniyeh concedes the "1967" borders!! Shame on Hamas but that's what happens when fighters sellout to join bush's "westernized democracy".
One one hand, they won't recognize Israel, but on the other hand they want a long lasting time of peace. This is plain nonsense.
And not to mention he mentions a "common culture" between Palestine and Europe... erm... what common culture? Suicide bombers? Islam? War with Israel since forever? Arabic values?
Nope, we don't have them that prevalent in Europe. He must've been thinking of some other continent and misnamed it by Europe.
did you see how he escapes from saying that he'll recorgnize israel's right to exist? it's obvious why, because the hammas wants to wipe out israel, and to establish an islamic orthodox state in all of palestine
hamas is the creation of isreali occupation policies and the status quo of the palestinia people. palestinian live in a big jail where poverity and illetircy is every day for them. come on people we live in the 21st century and it is time to give those misreable people a break. Land 4 peace or peace 4 land..who gives a dam what go first.real peace is far important and the strong counter party should move first toward peace and the weak one shell follow for sure.
Well, that seemed at least a measured and rational discussion. But when you listen to the Israelis and Hamas, it sounds like both sides present preconditions for negotiations that neither opposite side intends to meet. And then you just have these conflicts from both sides and constant retaliations from the opposite side.
So how can this process really go anywhere without some greater committment to compromise and cease fire?
