  • everyone has slated me for saying that there are similar moves to krav maga, why is this so hard to believe? we all know that these styles borrow from each other. but let me state something more important, these seminars, or classes are next to useless for learning - its a performance nothing more. like karate katas absolutely fucking useless. if you want to learn how to react in real time to a real threat go look at how boxers train, they fight to learn to fight. not ponce round like gays.

  • Oh and great work as usual Dmitriy, I hope that we can lure you back to Sweden again. =)

  • ? oh well, thanks for your insight, i do see a similar style to moves made in krav, but i respect your opinion.

  • But you can find similarities in almost every style if you look for them, Lichtenfeld started out as a boxer and a wrestler and I'm pretty sure that he did his fair share of borrowing from other styles. "Absorb what is useful, discard what is not".

  • Btw, I'm not saying that there are any relations with Akido only that SV and Aikido share some common basic principals as far as my understanding of these two styles goes.

  • krav maga rip off!

  • Why would anyone want to embarress himself by posting a comment like yours dikky? I don't get it.

  • well, its clearly ripped off, or if you prefer influenced by krav maga. you dont agree?

  • Nope. I would say that SV is probably more related to Aikido than to Krav, but SV is a style of its own with roots in older russian styles. If you see Krav when your watching this it's because you don't know what it is you are seeing. Even if you have been doing martial arts for 40 years it's very difficult to understand whats going on without first hand experiance. Correct me if I'm wrong "sibviun".

  • @dikkydoo1

    dude...you fucking serious? ROFL!

  • I cannot tell you how much I enjoy watching this Russian martial artist give his expression of the arts. Just very nice.. I wish I was there.

  • IMO, this man is better than ANY Systema instructor out there. He not only has the skills but the correct sincere demeanor of a real martial arts master. He's clearly not looking to commercialize and eager to profit from his art like so many end up doing. Bravo!

  • Such excellent work, always amazing to see.

  • is this guy associated with Ryabko systema?

  • I have got acquainted with Rjabko only in 2008. We also live far from Moscow. The school exists since 1988. All Russian styles have uniform roots.
