Why do all Nissan Patrols blow so much black smoke? My 300 TDi Land Rover hardly blows any, only a slight bit on start up. Is it because you thrash them or what?
@Ummagumma970 Black smoke is from unburnt/rich diesel mixture. Modified injector pumps add more fuel than standed factory settings for increased hp tend to be a bit sooty off boost and on depending on tune. Worked on landrovers for 12 years and have own a 300tdi. Fueling can be increased on yours to help with lag on take off, but will make it a bit smokey depanding on how much they wind up your fueling. You can find more info on google
