  • My roots in Vegas go all the way back to the late '40s with my grandfather who had to sell Bugsy SeagaI some land that Bugsy wanted for one of early casinos to my birth in '63, my mom and dad worked there during the Rat Pack years and early Elvis at the International years. In all those years, I've never experienced a more talented, creative and yet, humble entertainer than Danny Gans. Only God knows why He allowed Danny to depart early but we (his fans) know that we sorely miss him.

  • the best entertainers I have ever seen in person were ... Sammy Davis and Danny Gans ... two diiferent types but talent with a capital T at both ends !

Miss you Mr Danny Gans ... bless you (RIP) and your family who must miss you very much ...

  • Eerie how he's dressing for a funeral.

  • Thank you for posting this. Great!

  • The best there ever was and there won't be another as good. My hero in entertainment and always will be.

  • quakity entertainer, man , and family guy ... RIP Danny - god bless his family

  • Oops! Should have read more comments. If that's Gans, it's ironic (& prescient!) it was his swan song!

  • Best version of song. Who's the singer here?

  • @mothe0shiv It's Danny Gans doing Danny Gans

  • Thank you Danny for the most wonderfull evening in Las Vegas!!

    Wir vermissen dich sehr!!

    Greetings from good old Germany!

  • IN a Country that kills it's own Legends I am embarrassed to be here. I am American but I will litterally Rip anyone to pieces that tried to kill me. My senses are better. RIP Danny Gans I hope they burn in Hell.

  • My favorite bit he did MANY years ago was a duet as Kermit the Frog and Jimmy Stewart of The Rainbow Connection. :) Also his impression of a japanese impressionist singing Neil Diamond's 'Hello' was funny as well.

  • I say Danny Gans live, and he was bad. Beinjg an impressionist, I would know. He had a giant racket going with all the backup music. But, it's sad he died.

  • Hello Dorrism,I really enjoy this song and video -every few months I return to it. I decided this time to read the comments again, and seen your comment and scripture 1 peter 5;7. I hadnt read that in awhile maybe close to a year so I went to my bible -and my bible was open to that page.I dont beleive that was a coincidence just like Danny singing this for his closing number. There is a special spirit to this man and his loved ones. His talent seemed almost secondary to his personality.

  • so sad he was so talented.

  • I am much younger than him, but he was raised up at my church in Los Angeles. The last two times I went to Vegas, I emailed him. Both times there were tickets for two at will call, comped. What an amazing performer and what a great guy. He is now in glory with his and my Lord. Thank you Danny. Rest in peace.

  • I play this everyday in your homor Danny. I still can't believe you left us to heaven.

  • @lumpy46 I'm so sorry I didn't get to see him in person. My brother loved him; said he was the most remarkable entertainer he'd ever seen (he lived in Vegas and saw his show many times)......I ordered a VHS video of his show yesterday on Amazon so I will be able to watch one of his shows. Watching these youtube videos of him, he was incredible!

  • Miss you Danny!!!

  • Yeah thats really sad he died I have never saw his show but I hear he was a great performer and a good person. I'm hoping they release a dvd of one of his shows because I always wanted to see the show but never made the time.

  • 3 months have gone by and I still miss him, God bless you Danny Gans.

  • omg he just died... I like danny gans but i never knew that,

  • I saw him live once. He did Frank, Dean, but not Sammy. At the time it was sacreligious..but RIP anyway..

  • I just heard this news and am saddened and sorry! i really wish i caught his show. i am reading tributes of how wonderful he was and really feel i missed out on something good.

r.i.p. danny! peace and love to your family.

    catch your show later!

  • This man had so much talent, I saw him live and because of him I have so much ambition for my talents. He let pure faith and God rule his life and because of that he succeeded in his talents. We all Love you Danny and may the lord remember you before his father in heaven.

  • outstanding commentary.

  • he held up the lord jesus before his fellow man, i saw him live and i know he mentioned the lord all the time, this should be a source of great consolation to those who loved him, the lord will remember danny gans before his father in heaven. REST IN PEACE danny, from a fan in ireland

  • great tribute- the bible says if any man glory let him glory in the Lord.

  • What a way to say goodbye. Do you think he had a funny feeling that night? This was the first time he performed this number.

  • R U saying this was his final act of his final show ? if so---OMG.

  • Yes! The family released this footage right after his passing. It was the first time he did this song to end his show. How ironic is that?

  • Danny from a fellow Torrance High School friend we loved you in the 10th grade and proud of your sucess. Rest in peace Danny!

  • I just realized he changed the last line of the original Bobby Darin lyrics of the song from "And to think I get paid for this" to "I thank God 'cause I prayed for this." That was just a perfect last line that suited this great talent so well. RIP Mr G.

  • Yes, he did change the words to make them fit how he truly felt as a Christian. God did bless his life so much because he didn't compromise his faith. Amaizing thing is, he decided to sing this song at the end of his final performance 2 days before he died. Even his Mgr, was surprised that he did that. It isn't the song he usually ends with...GOD KNEW! We will never forget Danny Gans... But we can see him again in Heaven . John 3:16. Our prayers are with his family. G. & L.

  • This is stunning > R U saying this was the final act of his final show ? If so, this is a miracle.

  • Yes, Eddie, It was his final song ever! As I said, "God Knew" , but I don't think Danny knew it would be his last song. He had sometimes closed with that song, but not too often. He usually closed with something different. The Lord knew that he would sing that song and that it would bring glory to Himself (Christ), which is what Danny would have wanted anyway too. He was a great entertainer, Husband, Father and Christian. We miss him and cont. to pray for his family even now. I Peter 5:7

  • This is a wonderful tribute. Thank you.

  • He will be truly be Missed!! The Man with many voices is now with The man with million of children's!! Rest in peace Mr. Danny Gans
