@ecwman44 generally they are meant just to keep an area of the water open from ice. some of this is relative though if you put a fairly high wattage heater in a smaller pond it would probably heat the water up somewhat.
Some types of these are adjustable but they would be way too much for an aquarium setting I think. It would probably be best to look specifically for something for that application just to be safe.
does that heater heat the water just enought that does not frezze or will it heat the water to like 70 degrees

Do you know if these pond heaters are temperature adjustable? In addition, can the pondheaters be uesd as indoor heaters for an aquarium?
