if you have a human/goul follower, equip them with brotherhood of steel or enclave armor. Enclave armor is easy to get, jsut go to a airchopper, when it lands it drops off 3 men. kill them, take their armor, and repair them. I have 100 repair so it pretty much maxes them out. then give it to your follower and give him a hunting rifle/lincoln repeator/ support weapon. and they wont suck as bad.

I'm pissed dude, the one quest where you go back to Vault 101, I picked up the signal, but didn't try to do it until tons of quests later. I went back to Megaton and the signal is gone, which is stupid, if you broadcast an emergency frequency, you broadcast until help arrives, fucking stupid Amata. So, I'll never get the achievement, should I forget about it, or start the game over? Is it worth it?

Followers won't use anything but weapons, ammo, explosives & armor. If you want to heal them you have to sleep , with them in the room/house with you. It's strange you seemed to not know about the Talon Co., mercs., yet you have a tesla cannon, & winterized armor...did you use cheats for that ? I don't know if you care or not but, the TC Mercs were hired to kill you b/c of things you do in the game. They come after you if you are a good or bad character. And if you look, on some their bodies you will see a note that is a hit contract with your characters name on it.
