The guy in the blue shirt (Purple in the ending) looks like Hulk Hogan and even does an elbow drop when an enemy is down.

The Missing Link looks to be based on the late wrestler Bruiser Brody. Ironically, there was a wrestler called The Missing Link around at the same time as him.
