@65Seasons Thanks, that's what I thought, even though I have the impression that there is a slight change in the overdubbing. I'm not sure though, because I didn't hear the song for many years until yesterday. 1948-49 marked also the birth of real hi-fi (mono), making the recording industry as interesting to hear as HD Television is interesting to watch today.
