Great mix, and composition to showcase the best of both songs. BTW, good job matching pitch and tempo! I love both of these songs, it's bitter sweet knowing that Linkin Park is influenced by U2, but using the same chord progressions was kinda cheap. Either way, 2 great songs, and I'm glad someone was able to put them together tastefully.

stattic: I don't like the fact that you say that Linkin Park is a stealer. I mean, the songs are alike and yes, U2's song was first than Linkin Park's song. But, take a moment to think, U2 is a really famous band, and I don't think Linkin Park would "rip off" one of U2's song because EVERYONE would notice that and it wouldn't be good for them. I think they accidently made the song alike and they didn't notice the similarities. And the bass line is a common one.

@stattic6 static if you can't hear what you've done to Chester's voice you need to learn to listen a bit better, I think what you're doing sounds great but you need to be more critical of your own work when it comes to preserving audio quality. The whole mix is great it's just the pitch shifting and whatever conversion you're using to get up to youtube makes it sound like it's playing out a speaker phone.

You should get together with someone who's good with technical, a second set of ears.

Great mix. probably the best one I've heard yet. Most of the others are dreadfully off pitch as the mixers no next to nothing about pitch or melody. I remember liking one other mix, but it focused too much on shadow of the day and not enough on with or without you. This mix on the other hand is perfectly balanced. BTW, if this is just a rough mix, I can't w8 2 c the finished version.

Thanks! I did edit the bassline of "With or Without You" to match the verses of "Shadow of the Day", because the verses have different basslines, and like you said, I did use a pitch shifter. But yes, the choruses are the exact same chord progression. The songs are definitely very similar, and that was the point of this mashup.
