what boot loader did you use??? if you can find a link to the one you used can you keep me posted. at the moment i can only dualboot win7 & SL or win7 & ubuntu 10.4 not all 3 dang it
Its funny having one of your friend be the first one to figure out how to do this.
He figured it out as soon as this netbook came out but never put any info online about it. Six months ago you search mac on eee pc 1005HA you would not get anything now you get tons of stuff.
I noticed you have networking in the os x environment, I have a 1005hab, where did you find the drivers? p.s. thank you for posting the link to the tutorial.
Hold your horses people You need to know that before you install OSX snow leopard on your eeepc, your ethernet card will not work as well as your wireless card. I am not sure if they have developed the appropriate drivers for atheros but you should check.
@AppleProductFan dude why are you trashing linux? its nice to see a osp standing next to corporate products, besides OS X and linux are extremely similar, both being built off of unix. the major difference is that linux runs on a monolithic kernel structure and OS X runs on a microkernel structure, in my opinion both are great os's for different things....
very nice! i just bought an eee pc and i've found you're video! amazing!
just wondering, how have you installed mac on a windows? 'cause i have on macbook pro but i would like to install mac in the eee pc and other pc i have here in my home.
@mrdavidpatrickcase You need to download UltraIso. Then open your disk image (weither it be iso format or dvd format). Then in the top toolbar, find the right setting (I can't remember the name of it...search!) called "Write Disk" or something like that. Pick your usb and away you go. When you start up your computer with your usb in your computer, make sure your bios is set to boot usb first. Cheers!
can i do this with acer aspire one? i have windows 7 ultimate, and ubuntu netbook remix dual booted already. i would just make new partition in windows 7 for snow leopard?
theoretically, yes you can do this on your aspire one, but I wouldn't know specifically how (mainly because yes, installing mac on one of these does get a bit hairy). The wallpaper on my mac is from the movie "Wall-E", which is a fantastic movie, and everybody should see it.
My Asus 1005 is the one that comes with Windows Xp. I have installed Snow Leopard on main partition. Then I have prepared second partition for Win7. After installation of Win7 I can't boot into Mac Partition. But it stiil works when I boot from Chameleon on my usb hard drive. Any idea what is wrong with it?
What you said for the mac OS is also true for the other OS, they are not optimized for a processor such as the Atom N280. Hence, the boot time and application loading time are pretty long. That's the reason why OS such as Ubuntu Netbook Remix are, and maybe Windows 7 Starter (not quite sure for this one). They have been optimized to work well on such processors. But well, that's just my opinion, if you guys want to avoid lags, you should keep on with Windows 7 Starter and UNR.
yeah it does run slower, but the UI is worth it, IMHO. ubuntu (especially netbook remix) is unbearable. I just installed it on here to say i've done it lol. never plan on using it. i HATE ubuntu.
Well, i've been using Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope for a couple of months and I like it a lot more than XP or Vista (never tried 7 so far). I heard that many people say they don't like Linux because they can't handle, so maybe that's your case? And for sure, I wouldn't use an OS only for its UI ^^ Thanks for the advice anyway :)
i only installed a few .kext files, and they're listed on the lenovo forum I talked about in the guide. google "lenovo s10 sleep friendly asus 1008ha" and find the guide, and follow the links. unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to download the kext from the insanelymac forum, so I just had to google around for it until I found it.
as far as the OS being slower, yeah, I guess it's possible, snow leopard, although a very lightweight operating system is written specifically for core 2 duo chips, so it might not run the greatest on such a weak processor, like the one in the 1005ha. the only video I have trouble with is sometimes videos from porn sites run kinda slow :/... youtube, and VLC work great though.
DUDE!!! was happening Duncan? miss you man. dude how big is you hard drive, did you have to partition it? what else have you done to your comp. what is the music
lol hey man, this is mike right? yeah my hard drive was partitioned, into like 6 partitions for this to work. the music is Juno Reactor. the (2) songs are conquistador I and conquistador II

dizzuncan , I follow your steps and my asus working with OSX right now:) I bought 1005ha-PU17 and it comes with win7 and I upgraded 2GB RAM.
When I compare win7 with OSX , OSX slower than win7. and watching video has a problem. Which .kext are you using? Can you share with us? Thanks,
