I didn't like this scene because most of the time he seemed to be slicing like you would against battle-droids, which collapse when you barely touch them. As these were not battle droids but rather living creatures, anything but a blow to the heart/head is unlikely to kill. In that entire scene, I saw only one obvious strike to the heart.

Good catch on the battle droid shooting at the ceiling though. :P

And in that same moment, what is the Neimoidian doing? He's going towards Vader, not away from him! And there's neither sound nor motion from Vader's lightsaber to imply that it hits him - and yet he suddenly collapses with a large scorch on his torso.

I thought this was the saddest scene out of the three prequels. The seperatists were never evil, they just wanted to break away from the republic. You can see when he kills them that in the end they just wanted the war to end and there to be peace. After all, they didn't even know about the Emperor, or the fact Dooku was a sith and that he was palpatines servant. So basically, they were all just normal leaders, and not evil, possibly corrupted by greed, but not evil.

Yes, they wanted peace, yes they weren't evil. But then again, it comes down to a point of view. Jedi view Sith as evil, Sith view Jedi and Republic as corrupt. Dooku and Vader said that in the books. Vader in the movie. All Sith want is order and power and stability, not peace. Plagueis believed himself as a savior as well.

@alzanoletti because he was blinded by his visions of padme and his love for her overcame his loyalty to the jedi and he would do anything to save her, he did become very powerful throughout the movie, even having the upper hand against obi-wan throughout their whole fight, untill his cocky mistake that would ultimatly destroy his potential in the emperor's eyes, after that he was nothing more than a servant which is why palpatine was looking for a stronger apprentice (galen, luke)

What hurts the most is that Vader found out and realized too late in the end that he had been manipulated and toyed with since the very first moment Palpatine "Befriended" him and tricked him completely with Padmé's death in childbirth. He ended up killing her himself blinded and corrupted by the dark side and by Palpatine.
