They must've had rich dads or bought kits... The first synths cost as much as a small house. Prices must've come down a lot by 76 and you could buy self build kits too. Quite good, they included some interesting art and visuals for their times, as seen here. Nice, but really just 'tweak it and see what happens' type playing. Check out Cluster, Kluster, and especially Harmonia if you want to hear how it's really done. I enjoyed this a lot though
Sometimes I still remember one of their performances in 1975/76. It was completely new for me at that time, and truly amazing - especially when I closed my eyes and simply watched the pictures their sounds produced.
Compared with that, Kraftwerk was commercial boredom.
No I don't think they where bored. It is more the reaction of watching an art-performance than listening to music. For the most People at this time something like that was totaly new and most of them couldn't enjoy it like we could today.
This is the first time I've heard anything from this German group. Really interesting.

Oh dear, it's like watching one of those dreadful physics education programmes made for the UK "For Schools & Colleges" back in the '70's........

Wow, very good. Music of 2 brothers Seesselberg. Only 1000 pieces of this were made and sold after their concerts. Ahead their time.

These guys should have done the incidental music for Dr Who in the 70's instead of that fraud Dudley Simpson!

If you look at most krautrock live performances, this is the usual crowd reaction.
