  • me too

  • Possibly the best car stunt ever, ruined by the retarded slide whistle sound effect! Who was the sound guy on this movie Bozo the clown....

  • Thumbs up rob Dyrdek's ass yo

  • HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

  • Great stunt crappy sound effect

  • Ruined by not only the sound effect, but also by the sight of Clifton James' shorts-clad bum. Which will haunt me tonight, and every night.

  • Best car stunt ever

  • they made such a stunt driving but ruind it all by that stupid sound effect ...!!

wut the hell they were thinking ???!!!!

  • my grandpa had two of those cars both for around 600$ how i wish i had those cars

  • Thumbs up if you got here from Top Gear

  • @sufiyankhan123456 true hhh

  • This shit is just so much better than todays fake computer generated effects, which I hate.

  • Because nothing underscores one of the greatest car stunts ever filmed like a goofy sidekick and a cartoony sound effect.

  • and there was a crane and divers in the river in case that something would happen. When the car jumped and it really reached the destination, the director said: That was too perfect, let's do it again :D. The driver declined of course. THIS is what a call a movie stunt!!!

  • that whistle sound puts it down but anyways, i't was a great success in those times. This was the first scene that was actually calculated by a computer that was used by police for calculating trajectories and speeds for road accidents. The director of this movie just used it to calculate the needed speed, weight and angle for the car.. They also had to literally cut this car in half and extend it for 5 centimeters. The driver was lying on the floor and the pedals were in the back of the car.

  • @loveSc7 damn, u Really know ur stuff when it comes to this!

    Most illuminating. Thankyou.

  • i think the older films are much better than the new ones :)

  • The sound effect when it's doing the roll reminds me of a penis getting an erection

  • Am I the only one who loves the whistle noise? Lets be honest, TMWTGG was what James Bond would be if it was a comedy. May as well play it that way throughout.

  • keep pressing 456 456 456 456. its hilarious

  • i like the sound effect.

  • They had to slow down the scene; it was too fast.

  • i wish they could be bothered to do shit like this nower days insted of the cgi bullshit that you can tell is fake ass shit

  • all done without special effects and no one has been able to copy it or re do it since.

  • its called the javelin jump and they used to do it at the astro dome to sell amc's

the vid is the astro spiral jump

  • HAHAHAAAAAAA NO WAY IS THAT THE ACTUAL SCENE!! ...theres not ACTUALLY a cartoon slide whistle [!] on the soundtrack, right? i mean, i havent seen this movie; but this is james bond!! surely this is some sort of youtube joke video...right?!

  • @bijibadness haha nope its actually in there, they were cheesy as hell at one point

  • press 4 repeatedly for the best sound in history

  • Love J.W. Pepper!

  • Potentially the greatest car stunt of all history.....and they ruined it.

  • Me after seeing it without audio: "BAD-ASS. That is all."

Me after seeing it with audio: "ಠ_ಠ"

  • FUCK CGI!!!!!

THIS IS HOW IT OTTA BE DONE

  • no matter the whistle being stupid and annoying, but its 2 seconds late aswell.

  • im JW Pepper XD

  • the sound effect makes the stunt

  • needs mythbusters

  • @marleySux It's actually possible. They tried it on Top Gear... It wasn't a success but at least you can see it's possible.

  • i always played stunt man and tht exact sene is one of the missions and i swear it wasnt modelled from 007 it was dukes of hazard

  • @crash09er Yeah they mashed together a bunch of stunts and movies/shows, but the stunts didn't always stay with the movies. The spiral jump was the final stunt in the Dukes of Hazzard-ish movie.

  • The most excellent stunt in Bond history, ruined by a slide whistle. XD

  • The stunt was cool regardless of the sound effect but I know what you mean

  • the sound effect is stupid lol

  • @MapleSV your'e stupid

  • Comment removed

  • amazing stunt with no cgi - thats why its amazing

  • The slide Whistle cracks me up everytime even know its the most ridiculous sound ever in james bond history it still cracks me up!

  • LOL, this is basically the James Bond series equivalent of "Jumping the Shark," like Fonzie did on Happy Days.

  • wAÄääääääääeeeeeeeeehhhhhh That's the sound afterwards

  • Did the Chitwoods perform this jump...The Chitwoods performed the car stunts in Live and Let Die...They had a traveling car stunt show back in the 60's and 70's...Got to see them perform at our fairgrounds back in the 70's....Does anyone know what happened to the Chitwood car shows....

  • @avionicswirenut

My parents worked for the bossle helldrivers, and i came over in the holydays,

and worked in the show too as a help for the stuntmen. i learned t odrive cars there

at age 11, and they took me with them when they drove on twho wheels witch was a major part of the show. i also learned to ride a bike, and ride on it backwards or standing up on the seat with no hands on the handlebars. See part2

  • @avionicswirenut

    part2

I also prepared the cars that were crashed in a show (about 10 each day)

by removing the windows, and tie the doors with the safetybelts, and ram 2 holes in the floor behind the driver for a chain that was connected to a own safetybelt

for the stuntmen. i also removed the radio's and ornaments and new spare tires witch i sold in the winter. Now back to the one who did this stunt.

    See part3

  • @avionicswirenut Part3

The man who did this stunt was joe williams, also known as joe bossle.

Also his nephew johny bossle did some stunts, but i don't know witch one.

I do know that joe williams also drove on two wheels in the ford mustang, and that they got well payed for their stunts, because they came to germany with a brandnew fiftwheeler with a new chvy pick up, and jonhy with a new mercedes sl.

joe died just a few years ago and johny stil travels with his stuntshow with his brother

  • That was one of the best Bond moments. And then the whistle was put in and it became the very worst Bond moment. The effect isn't even timed right.

  • Pointy heads!!!

  • one of the best stunt i've seen, i hear people talking about how CGI takes away the thrill even if it looks real, well CGI can always make things a thousand times more spectacular but when you KNOW its real, it just makes things a lot more exciting and impressive. but i have no problem with CGI, when its done right, only what you're doing with it and the creativity counts, like T-1000 in terminator 2, even though we know its fake, the stuff it does is so creative, it makes us go "WOW'

  • am i right in thinking that this stunt has never been achieved since? yea i probz made that up...

  • its james bond its seriuos sexy and has to be able to be watched by children and adults thus the stupid sound being in there dont worry i hate it to but thats just how they was made in them days :P roger moore had loads of good sayings in the james bond movies i personally like his i can thin of a 4 letter word and your full of it hence shit :P good old classics some new movies dont have

  • The fact the sound effect goes through a giant shot of middle aged taint is perfect

  • Little known fact: Sideshow Mel was a foley artist before taking his slidewhistle over to Krusty.

  • It was also done in the FIRST TAKE.. Excellent..

  • I love how J.W. Pepper screams after the car lands.

  • I love how J.W. Pepper screams after the car lands.

  • The slide whistle takes away from the over all awesomeness of this stunt.

  • whoever suggested they put in the wistle effect should have been shot.

then again, this movie sucked anyways...

  • Have they ever considered going back to the source material and erasing the sound effect for later re-releases?

  • Why did they put a sound you would expect in a cartoon

  • I hope the post production crew responsible for this was fired.

    Twice.

  • that sound is so innapropriate for that scene

  • The sound killed that otherwise impressive stunt.

  • that was incredible, still havnt made a better car stunt since!

  • What is that car? is it american???

  • @xsbgtr An AMC Hornet X.

  • damn this stunt would've been so fucking cool if it wasnt for that stupid slide whistle effect

  • @guitar999beatlesrule Its still the best car stunt in movie history :)

  • @guitar999beatlesrule no actually it's still cool

  • umm... i can't really tell how awesome the stunt was.. because.. well... WHO THE FUCK DECIDED ON THAT SOUND? I'VE SEEN MORE SERIOUS SOUND EFFECTS ON CARTOON NETWORK!

  • Very good scene, except for that stupid sound.

Even as a fan, I have to admit Roger Moore times had a lot of childish things.

  • It was the only time its been done

  • The only time in a movie. It was done lots of times as an attraction at live stunt shows.

  • this stunt was done with no special effects

  • @fredfredburgerno1 sorry mate but this looks like its fake coz he was going wayyy.... to slow to really do that jump!!

  • @zygiux67 its called slow motion broseph!

  • @DaveAtLeeds no i mean before hes even on the ramp look at his speed man :D

  • @zygiux67 haha yh i know right it looks ridiculous. i watched a full programme about james bond real stunts about a year ago and this was on it hahahaha. bizarrely, also on imdb: 'The spiral "Javelin Jump" was performed by a modified 1974 Hornet X: special suspension, a six cylinder engine (for reduced weight), centered steering wheel, and a special fuel system to stop the car stalling when turning over.'

  • @DaveAtLeeds oh well that wierd but still..

  • @fredfredburgerno1 it ain't the special effects we're worried about unfortunately, it's the SOUND effects. jesus christ, it's almost like they were on drugs making this movi- oh, when was it made? oh ok, it actually makes sense now.

  • @fredfredburgerno1 yep and its never been done since cos its so hard to pull off, they tried to recreate it on Top Gear (uk car show) and crashed it.

  • Such an increadible stunt!

  • it such a great scene
