Yeah, that's it. 10 years before the release of this album. He started having nightmares about her, where she was drowning and calling out his name, before they started recording this album.

From what I heard the concept was a kind of "therapy" thing for Warrel. I believe the nightmares vanished after this album was finished, but I'm not sure.

IMO its a good eerie melody and mood they got on, but lyrics-wise I expected more from nevermore. You're in my heart forever? Just... no. Was this a stab at getting a mainstream focus track from the album? If so, this is not the nevermore I obsess about on a daily basis. They write epic poetry of atheist pragmatism and use stunning metaphors to paint a picture of this world while the guitar is absolutely godlike from slow takes to the timeless shreds. These are not lyrics worthy of nevermore...

Well, music strikes me as more about self expression rather than maintaining image. Sure, they paint pretty pictures with their talent one way, but it's refreshing to hear warrel/nevermore commit their skill to another area as well. This song, as well as the beginning of dead heart in a dead world are another side. Who better to express sorrow than warrel, his voice is the stuff of legend after all. As far as lyrically, it's clean cut and simple which seems to harmonize with the feelings he has
