Why do people want the game to beat wow, or not to beat wow. It will never beat WoW Because its not INTENDED TO! Its a totaly different game with totaly different values. There is no WAY to decide that this game can be better than WoW, or vice versa, as they are complete different.

I disagree, ive never seen such a balanced game as guild wars, and all its expansions. after over 1 500 hours of gameplay on it im very confident that ncsoft knows what they are doing. The art, the music, the style, and the innovative SKILL AND STRATEGY over the WHO HAS THE BEST ARMOR WINS will always get my money per month.
wow is lamee way boring now. I played the beta and this game is way fun i have a lvl 10 assassin and a lvl 10 chanter with mostly all +6 enchanted gear staff is+7 and i have one blue item. this game will be the next big thing.

LoL check your sources right its P2P, they've already announced it for the Western market but what they haven't announced is the prices and how the subscription will be. Koreans I think have game cards that go by the hour. I would prefer the game cards so you pay when you wanna play.

I would never ever consider playing a free to play game. They are allways buggy, laggy, full of bots and exploiters and the avarage age around 12 years.

I can't stand 5 minutes on a private server with all the 1337 speak etc. Same thing with silkroad online. Everyone bots because they don't care if they are banned, you just create another account.
Also, companies make millions on monthly fees to improve the game. F2p games normaly have a item shop that you can buy items for cash wich ruins the game even more. P2P games ftw :)
You can level up through quests (Story related) Missions (not story related), killing Balour (NPC monsters) etc etc. Also, if you grind inside a pvp zone calld the Abyss you get double XP.
Theres also raids/dungeons/etc.. its kind of Lineage/WoW/Guildwars wrapped into one with UBER graphics and stuff: A fine sandwich of awsomesauce and it comes out in may!
To the people who have played, is this WoW, L2 or WoW+L2 ?! How rewarding are the quests, is there a LOT of quests, enough so that you don't HAVE to grind throughout all the levels, is there interesting dungeons, is it just another Korean Grind w/ wings?!
The game is more Scfi than L2 its no L3 tho. Quests in the game are rewarding. There wont be much grinding to be done. Instances are amazingly fun very rewarding. It has wings yes but its no Korean grind fest.
I know it was two weeks ago posted but, Lineage 3 was not aion. Lineage 3 was fully developed on the unreal 3 engine but ended up leaking host files due to some NCsoft employee. They scrapped the whole project and are redoing it. Aion was in development while lineage 3 was, but now lineage 3 is set to come out in 2012 or w/e. It was supposed to be part of the Lineage franchise becuase it was so popular in korea, but then they changed it to stand alone. This game will be amazing.

Well then that's good news then. However, I think Aion is more demanding that Lineage to. Minimum or recommended requirements mean nothing now days. Maybe to some, but games don't run perfect even if you have the reccommended specs. In fact, you normally need much better to play fully smooth
Well yeah, it is kinda weird. Point is though, that access is limited to selected players (thus closed), but players can talk about it, make screens and videos and such. Thus "public".
No official statement has been made yet, but you cam expect it to be fully Pay2Play. So you will have to buy the game in stores and pay a monthly fee. Just like World of Warcraft or any other AAA MMO.
It looks great in my opinion. Only one problem is the asian overkill, the super puper aoe the angel wings etc... it's fun but sometimes it's just over the top. Don't get me wrong, I adore asian culture and stuff, but you need some more realistic acting/animation to get more immersion. Or alteast so I think.

Aion, like WoW, takes the common elements of MMOs and puts them into a new setting. With WoW being the most popular MMO to date, it's obvious that they take elements that WoW did well and put them into their game, just like WoW took the good elements from other games.

WoW has lots of skill involved in it. I've played rogue for over 3 years now- I have one for pve and one for pvp, and my pvp rogue's gear sucks, but I still take out full merciless-geared players! Explain that one if skill isn't involved.
Sap wins battles? I really don't understand that... so 1-1 you'd sap the opponent? Then 12 secs later; what? Go play a rogue, then reply.
And I have 2 rogues- one is Doomsin (EU Twilight's Hammer) whom I have almost cleared BT with, so I have shitloads of pve xp, + the other is Madflows (same) who I'm gearing for PVP, but I honestly destroy people with him cuz of the needed skill to play the game.

This game is definitely going to be appeasing for the people that have played WoW since its launch. I think in some areas, Aion is also going to kick WoW in the balls, big time. I've played WoW for 2 1/2 years, and its really losing its "oomph" if you know what I mean. Overall, this game looks really enticing, I can't wait til its release nonetheless.

looks like yet another WOW clone (albeit with better graphics). to the game developers: we don't care that much about the graphics -- where is the GAMEPLAY? cause WOW sucks. Darkfall is the only game that comes close to a next-gen MMO, but noone knows when DF will be released...
well ive played wow for about a year now and to me there is no comparison. i havent even played this game yet and think its better. it looks so fresh, new, and overall visually stunning. from what ive seen there looks to be a Strong and deep story in this. i really hope it lives up to the bit of hype its getting. looks delicous. i cannot wait

because the gameplay is exactly the same as WOW -- grind mobs/do quests until max level, then grind gear and/or PVP rank.
Point being: the is no evolution in gameplay beyond the current batch of MMOs that all want a slice of WOW's action, so none of them are innovating.
The only MMO i know of that is actually trying to significantly move the genre forward by innovating and trying something new and different is Darkfall.

i played wow for 3 years. you won't realise what a crappy game wow is until you quit your wow-crack addiction and try playing some other games for a while. wow has so many subscribers because it's a braindead, simple game that even people with zero brain/twitch skills can play. problem is its success has urged many game copies to try to copy their success through the introduction of very similar, simple games with very little new, interesting, nor innovative gameplay.

First, Crysis uses Crytek 2, not Crytek. That would be Far Cry.
Second, I checked the minimum requirements. Not all that surprising. If your pc can run Lineage 2 smoothly, then it can surely run Aion.

Well then that's good news then. However, I think Aion is more demanding that Lineage to. Minimum or recommended requirements mean nothing now days. Maybe to some, but games don't run perfect even if you have the reccommended specs. In fact, you normally need much better to play fully smooth

Well yeah, it is kinda weird. Point is though, that access is limited to selected players (thus closed), but players can talk about it, make screens and videos and such. Thus "public".

No official statement has been made yet, but you cam expect it to be fully Pay2Play. So you will have to buy the game in stores and pay a monthly fee. Just like World of Warcraft or any other AAA MMO.

It looks great in my opinion. Only one problem is the asian overkill, the super puper aoe the angel wings etc... it's fun but sometimes it's just over the top. Don't get me wrong, I adore asian culture and stuff, but you need some more realistic acting/animation to get more immersion. Or alteast so I think.

Aion, like WoW, takes the common elements of MMOs and puts them into a new setting. With WoW being the most popular MMO to date, it's obvious that they take elements that WoW did well and put them into their game, just like WoW took the good elements from other games.

WoW has lots of skill involved in it. I've played rogue for over 3 years now- I have one for pve and one for pvp, and my pvp rogue's gear sucks, but I still take out full merciless-geared players! Explain that one if skill isn't involved.

And I have 2 rogues- one is Doomsin (EU Twilight's Hammer) whom I have almost cleared BT with, so I have shitloads of pve xp, + the other is Madflows (same) who I'm gearing for PVP, but I honestly destroy people with him cuz of the needed skill to play the game.

That's exactly my point, ffs! I have fuck-all gear on my pvp rogue and still I can beat arena geared players; hence skill being needed. If you're getting nailed by unskilled but geared people, you suck. End of.

This game is definitely going to be appeasing for the people that have played WoW since its launch. I think in some areas, Aion is also going to kick WoW in the balls, big time. I've played WoW for 2 1/2 years, and its really losing its "oomph" if you know what I mean. Overall, this game looks really enticing, I can't wait til its release nonetheless.

looks like yet another WOW clone (albeit with better graphics). to the game developers: we don't care that much about the graphics -- where is the GAMEPLAY? cause WOW sucks. Darkfall is the only game that comes close to a next-gen MMO, but noone knows when DF will be released...

well ive played wow for about a year now and to me there is no comparison. i havent even played this game yet and think its better. it looks so fresh, new, and overall visually stunning. from what ive seen there looks to be a Strong and deep story in this. i really hope it lives up to the bit of hype its getting. looks delicous. i cannot wait

because the gameplay is exactly the same as WOW -- grind mobs/do quests until max level, then grind gear and/or PVP rank.
Point being: the is no evolution in gameplay beyond the current batch of MMOs that all want a slice of WOW's action, so none of them are innovating.
The only MMO i know of that is actually trying to significantly move the genre forward by innovating and trying something new and different is Darkfall.

i agree with kilner79 and cosmosman. this game looks really amazing in many ways. since when have you seen flight in mmo's? well , yeah in WoW but that game sucks and you cant fly until your around level 60 and it still looks pretty crappy if you ask me. aion's flight system is really beautiful in my opinion and isnt the only new thing about any mmo. i just dont have any time or space to type every good thing about this game. just that i cant wait for its release haha. cant type anymore.limit 0

i played wow for 3 years. you won't realise what a crappy game wow is until you quit your wow-crack addiction and try playing some other games for a while. wow has so many subscribers because it's a braindead, simple game that even people with zero brain/twitch skills can play. problem is its success has urged many game copies to try to copy their success through the introduction of very similar, simple games with very little new, interesting, nor innovative gameplay.
