@djsunproductions Don't go There, Nothing "Average" about AWB and You Funkin Know It, and the riff he playin by them is CORNY, I wouldnt waste my time learning it, I am not mad he includes funk licks by other cultures, I just want to learn from those whose culture it originates from . . Got a problem with that? I been mis educated by average white people my entire school career . .NO MORE ! ! ! Funk, Jazz, Rock, Blues,Hip-Hop, Country . . I'll do like The Beatles/ Led Zeppelin go to the SOURCE

Leave you strings on :-). You will need them from time to time. :-) The muted stuff is mostly left hand. Go get Zapp and Roger-All the greatest hits. lots of songs with this style.

The lick is a little off. It isn't what's on the record. I appreciate the lesson, but the transcription isn't accurate. Nice video though.

Actually-it is only one part. So it's not "off" but it is not every guitar part on that song. But use this as a starting point,transcribe the other parts,there is always something to learn.

In this video,it's just my fingers :-). For funk,usually you would play a strat or Tele,but anything is possible.

i think its a blues scale.

There are tons of blues scale based riffs-in most styles. Get that scale down and use it a lot.
