  • nice...very nice. I`m interested how yuo switch it on and off..

    tnx

  • Mini-Box.com I think it is.. maybe. Net, they have a USB programmable power supply on there that will perfectly answer your power supply problems. Auto power on/wake trip, charging, and sleep/stop charging based on the ignition switch status. Should work perfectly.

  • not bad at all, nice, but that gay ass music has got to go

  • BTW just a quick suggestion. There is plenty of information out there about changing LCD density, xda has several things on it. But I thought I would share a quick and easy way to do it.

    use rootExplorer and mount "/system".

press and hold build.prop and select "edit in text editor".

go down to the line "lcd.density=161"

Default is 161, the higher the number the bigger

(for car use I personally like 191)

    hit menu, then save. Reboot.

  • Part I

Man, I was all set to install a car pc in my ride. As a matter of fact, my girl bought me the leno ideacentre Q150 that looks a like a cd player and she bought me a 7 inch screen. Unfortunately the computer comes with window 7 and I was planning on buying centrafuse to use as my front end. Since seeing your video, I'm seriously considering going with the Acer Iconia A100 7 inch screen running Honeycomb. My problem is tying it into my clarion eq and my amp.

  • Part II

I currently have a 2000 ford taurus SEL that has climate control and until recently there was not kit that allowed for aftermarket stereo installation. There is now a kit that allows me to do just that and keep my climate control. My problem is that the audio in this kit is meant to plug into an aftermarket stereo and not a tablet or car pc. I currently run my audio through my amp via my cd changer source that is now an auxillary connection. Any advice? Your set up is pimpn.

  • @positivedownside1 You are in a pickle for sure. If I remember correctly, you factory stereo has a amp/tuner on the left side of the trunk. You will have to rewire that first if you haven't already. You also need a preamp (like my audiocontrol). If were me I'd do a 3sixty.1 from Rockford.

  • you are correct. My buddy installed a pioneer premiere amp for me and I turned my cd changer function into an aux so that could plug my smartphone up via a 3.5 jack. Before seeing your set up and that Metra kit, I was seriously considering just having my 7 inch custom installed where ac vents are.

  • I'm going to do a even more custom install using this video

    Will post video soon.

  • Baddass. Some $hithead got in my truck & tried to steal my Clarion vrx935. Idiot thought he was going to rip the radio out & only ended up ripping the 7" monitor off the unit. He left the monitor on my floorboard & stole the frikin remote. I have sound but cannot control anything. My Optimus is rooted & overclocked & you sir have just made my mind up. I am purchasing a Nook today & I will root & overclock that bastard also. I am on the lookout for a 3sixty. Thx for the Uberfast reply

  • If I connected a Nook to a 3Sixty to my amps would I need a car stereo? It looks like you bypassed the whole car stereo issue w/ your in line module.

  • @IIAnomaly17II No. The 3sixty is pretty much the same thing. 3Sixty a bit cooler with the Bluetooth programming and tuning feature. Also it comes with a plug-in volume knob which simplifies everything. Essentially you need a pre-amp (3sixty) with volume control and a full range multi-channel amplifier.

  • @prittsaudio Alright, I went & bought it from Best B & had a 10% coupon that worked. Flashed Clockwork Mod, Cyanogen 7, Overclock Kernal from Dalingren, & the updated Gapps. Overclocked it to 1.2 Ghz (Stable). Tethered it to my Optimus V which is also rooted & overclocked. $25 a month unlimited data from Virgin Mobile (woohoo). Going to fab a removable install. Looking for a 3Sixty, my amps & kickers are already installed. Thx a million!!!

  • @IIAnomaly17II Fo Sho!

  • **Departed from Phiremod roms for CM7 nightlies. Dalingrin 6/13/11 has a new kernel out that is over clocked at 1.6ghz and seems to be stable so far! It is OC'ing the DSP as well as L3 bus. It just keeps getting better! Oh and by the way - Netflix is working in-car now too.

  • What app are you using for your soft keys?

  • Thank you for the amazing job. Within 24 hours of seeing this I have bought an NC, flashed CM7 and am engineering a removable installation. I love your permanent install, but I'm having so much fun with my NC I want it with me always, at least for now.

  • @MHatter469 I hear you! I pulled mine back out for the time being because I love the thing so much. At some point I will buy another one and put the Nook back in.

  • @prittsaudio thanks I would look into the device module.

  • I am aware. The original build was with froyo and I never changed the text.. Plus "Nook Gingerbread Car" doesn't have the same ring to it. Haha.

  • I put my Nookcolor as my indash stereo but i used another stereo to connect it via headphones jack. I wanna looking for a device module like the one you used for you nook to control volume. We're can i get that and can you help me out to set it up. I would appreciate your help thanks.

  • @JCAndroid87 I had the Three.1 laying around. But you can use really any line driver or OEM integration piece. I would recommend a Rockford 3Sixty.1 processor. You can get them online for around $200.

  • damn!!! awesome!!!!!

  • **Issue is the nook usb charger was too big and I had to order a L shaped usb cable. Apparently there is a second charging conductor within the oem nook usb charger for rapid charging. The nooks battery is falling behind and I had to add a constant power toggle switch to the circuit. Any ideas?

  • To answer your question, I actually put in a usb hub powered with ignition. I just set it to stay awake while charging, then it goes into stanby after 15 seconds when the car is off. With the usb hub, I also have a female usb jack to mount the nook to a laptop in the car if any changes need to be made or files need to be added.

  • @prittsaudio Which USB hub did you use for your install? I was initially looking for a DC powered hub that could exceed 500 mA output for other peripheral devices using USB host. Looks like you wired a 12v cigarette socket with a USB adapter, then USB A M/M to the hub for power on ignition. I haven't seen a decent hub that powers via USB connection, usually only from AC adapter. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • @schnap81 Power and charging was the whole problem and thus why I pulled it out. I haven't really found a good way of charging the nook yet. The way I wired it in the video didn't work. The nook was consuming more during use than the charging circuit could keep up with. I was always behind. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough room on the side to use the OEM nook charger and resorted to a generic micro usb right angle adapter. Didn't work.

  • Very nice! I was going to sugest GPS Tether but I noticed you were using it. Excellent job!

  • Very cool! TFS... posted it my FB: Unleash Your Nook Color page. I tried to put the FB link here but no luck

  • that is just brilliant. but how will u be able to charge the battery?
