It is not fair to the community or to the historical tradition of our city, strong affordable housing is one thing but paper mache houses for a arm and a leg is just ridiculous.
You think you're helping Brewerytown's poor? Did you move to those tiny little Westrum homes so you could serve us? Who are you kidding? You don't even know or care about the history being destroyed to make room for more arrogant, compassionless, often racist people like you. Perhaps you should talk to your neighbors instead of throwing stones at them.
So let's see. Brewerytown has a household income of 1/3 the regional average. Westrum builds new townhomes and brings in new residents with higher incomes (more disposable income). This is bad for Brewerytown how?
Perhaps the "old" Brewerytown residents should figure out how to provide a service or goods that the "new" residents want and then they can share in some of that disposable income.
Stop spreading this hate! Some of us want to see investment come in to OUR area! Gentrification is NOT a bad word and those of us who OWN our homes will only benefit from Westrum's development!
